  1. Anyone got any advice, I,ve just bought a Neodym Watt Meter / Overlander I,m not qualified in electronics but understand some basics, the instructions appear to assume you know how to use it.## What is the PCM set at two different ratings for ? And I assume the PCM knob is the equivalent of throttle? Thanks Steve W
  2. I am mounting an OS 70 surpass inverted in a model. I have installed the fuel tank with centre below level of the needle valve. Problem when starting the fuel seems to run straight through and out the exhaust silencer. Am I best trying to lower the tank further (will have to buy a smaller one), or have you any other suggestions? Thanks Steve
  3. Thanks Guys That gives me more confidence, maybe I will buy it. I have two strokes and electric, but never had a four stroke!
  4. Thanks Eric It states in the spec that it is 1.1hp same as the OS 70 fs surpass Mk2, however if it is as fussy as you state I think I will leave it
  5. I have been offered an OS70 Surpass four stroke, new / unused in box, although obviously some years old.  Were the Mark ones a good engine?  Asking price is £100. I have not used a four stroke before so any advice gratefully received Thanks Steve
  6. I have bought the FF7 2.4Ghz,and I am very pleased with it. I dont think I,m likely to ever have more than 10 models in flying condition at any one time so the memory is fine. There are a couple of extra features, an extra mix for helicopters and one for split elevators. I like the single receiver and the fact that the receiving part of the aerial is on the end of the wires so can effectively be mounted externally if required. I have done this on an FVK Absolute which has some carbon fibre in the body which may mask signals.
  7. The announcement although stating the T7C transmitters have been checked is not clear about the risk of them losing code in the future, the following is a reply I received from RIPMAX on this subject QUOTE Hi StevePlease disregard the Futaba serial number. It has no significance in the UK.If your transmitter is a Futaba T7CP and it has a Ripmax serial number then it will not have any problems with the ID code. You do not have to take any special precautions when turning the transmitter off or be concerned if the battery runs flat. All T7CP transmitters sold in the UK (with a Ripmax serial number) will have version 2 firmware installed and cannot lose their correct ID code under any operating conditions.RegardsJim MeierFutaba Service Department Ripmax Ltd 241 Green Street Enfield Middlesex EN3 7SJ England TEL: 020 8282 7510
  8. I note in this thread there are references to the Futaba 2.4 problems with zero GUId. I recently purchased the new FF7 (T7C) with 07'..... serial number. I was concerned and contacted RIPMAX  the Futaba UK agent, I received the following assurance------------ Please disregard the Futaba serial number. It has no significance in the UK. If your transmitter is a Futaba T7CP and it has a Ripmax serial number then it will not have any problems with the ID code. You do not have to take any special precautions when turning the transmitter off or be concerned if the battery runs flat. 9. I have a Futaba T7 ,on the box it states Software version2, however it had an 07 serial number and I was still concerned, I contacted Ripmax who replied as follows:----------------Please disregard the Futaba serial number. 10. Thanks Timbo 4mm gold it is then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  11. I am just updating from Nicads to Lipo's, previously I have used 4mm gold connectors, are these still considered the best solution.  (I will be using Flightpower 25C 3700 mah Lipo's, in brushless set up.) I was considering Deans connectors but have been told these are only suitable for up to 40 Amps is that correct. I have found some 4mm gold connectors with sheath's on the internet which should be good for higher outputs and prevent risk of shorts in transits. Deans or Gold connctors? Thanks
  12. I think the Tiger Moth saw action with the Norwegian Services in WW11, may be thats where they got the idea?
