  3. Hi, I am 62, Built my first airplane models from matches and letter paper aged about 9. They were catapulted from an arrangement consistin of a matchbox, a match, and a rubber band. Later I proceeded to a bought kit for a half-scale rubber powered low-winger. No success. A soarer, "Baby" from "Dansk Modelflyve Industri" of Odense, Denmark, worked much better, and the same applied to a model "Gloria" of the same origin in my late teens. Then there was education and jobs and family and kids for almost 40 years. And then, about 5 years ago, I suffered from a cornea inflammation keeping me far away from sunlight. I sent for a rubber model kit (balsa and paper) and succeeded. Bought another and larger one, Success too. And since then I have built an electric sailplane from a balsa kit, and look forward to my retirement in 3 to 8 years, so I can get enough time for modelling. My first own designs were from straws from a long-stalked grass growing near my home back in the early 50s, covered with paper from the baker's. They could fly!!
