  1. thanks to you both. i look forward to the intended new article, i like to experiment with balsa kits to see if i can convert to electric. i have joined the BMA and now need to find a club in the worcester area to learn to fly and get my A cert ( hopefully!) i hope i can acheive this with electric flight only. from last years plans i have built the 'Fizza' which looks really good. i havent flown it yet though as i realise i need 'airtime' on a trainer, hence the Flair Cub.
  2.  having now retired,i have taken up the hobby of areo-modelling and enjoy the balsa bashing. however i need to learn to fly which means joining a club and to this end i have built a Flair Cub 73'' trainer which now needs power. i am drawn to electric flight, so can anyone advise whether it is possible to convert the flair to electric flight with sufficient flying time to enable me eventually to take my A cert? the plans advise a suitable engine would be an Irvine .30 As a newcomer to the sport i find it difficult to determine equivalent electric/Ic engines and requirements of propeller sizes leave me baffled
