  1. Thank you Mike , am a slow builder but usually I get there in the end but I can't promise I won't have to trouble you again if that's ok should I have a brain ache.
  2. Hello Mike bit behind with my build but decorating under instruction from you know who has delayed the start.can you confirm please position of rib R3 in relation to wing jig does the rear of R3 rest on 14 mm or 11mm section. Many thanks --rupert
  3. Hi Steve Many thanks for your input here. One model is a scratch built Mew Gull with an OS 72, one is a World Models Midget Mustang with an OS fs110 and the other is a magnattila with a Satio 56 (old) like me. If they haven't totally gummed up because of the dam weather I will try to put this advice into action. regards Malc
  4. I have two Saito and two OS four strokes and in some situations I have them fully enclosed within a cowl. My question is how can I best protect them from deteriation because I can't get after run oil into them or can I ? Any suggestions gratefully recd. Many thanks Malcolm keen.
  5. Thanks Phil it sounds simple when you put it like that.
  6. I am confused ,again, some advice says use a std prop others say use use a dedicated pusher prop.  Is the profile the same but the other way around. ? If so why do they make specific (P) props ? If there is a difference which has the best performance  ? What is the differnce ? Do you have to reverse the motor sometimes to get the best performance from your  chosen set up ? I would be grateful for any help
  7. From what I am hearing it looks as if I have to think " bigger is better "to get the best out of it.  But do you think  clubs are limiting size / opperation  due to noise /space site restrictions etc.Has anybody found that the move to petrol has proved problematic.
  8. Many thanks for your words of wisdom gentlemen. I think a chicken stick and a fire extinguisher  are top of the list.
  9. Hello Peter I have been flying with glow for a few years now .I mean Petro up to about 25cc
  10. I am thinking of going petrol , nothing to big you understand but what sort of safety precautions should I be taking .And if anybody has any useful do`s and dont`s then I would be very interested to hear about them. Thanks in anticipation.

    Fuel

I came home from work  the other day to find a gallon of fuel (GN5) left on the doorstep. Lucky you, your thinking, but I dont use it and not knowing from whence it came and it looking a little long in the tooth I kept it for a while asking anybody and everybody if they wanted it. No takers, and so I went to the local amenity point and said "where do you want me to put this mate " ."We aint licenced to take that model stuff ere".  So I still have it and dont really know how we safely dump unwanted usless fuel.  Thats where you come in please  .
  12. Thank you gentlemen for all your assistance,I am sorry I have not responded sooner but my broadband is up the creek . Happy Christmas and all the best for the new year
  13. Thank you Timbo for your help here . I will let you know how she flies.
  14. Many years ago I made an electric powered model designed by Chris Martindale from a plan published  in Aeromodler July 1988 (if your reading this Alan I have found the plan) . Its name was EXP-1R , 39" Wing span, twin boom pusher ,Weight all up with (600 Graupner at that time with 7 x4 prop ) ,esc ,7cell nicad etc aprox 2.25 lb - 2.50lb. Wing is flat bottomed sheeted construction with airfoil section profile. It flew quite well ,short duration though and it had to be on the fast side. So after all that,  can anybody help with advice for best  power set up etc i.e. motor requirement -   in-runner - out runner, High /low Kv , pusher props brushless etc.Hopefully using existing Flight Power 3s 2150mah. Thanks for your time.
