  1. Hi Mark,I was begining to think that I was the only one building the Intro-vert, I have been building models from plans since 1950's and I still get it wrong sometimes. I have 4 Depron models built now I got intrested in foam models when I moved into electric power from IC. There are lots of free plans on the net some with build vidios which will be very useful to getting build experiance if you would like i could point you to some intresting web sites the last foam plane I built was a Simplitious a delta style useing 3 mm depron ends up very rigid and very strong and flies great. look here hope you get along well with your build and happy hunting on the web for your electrics. regards Peter
  2. I have made a start on a Intro-vert March free plan, useing the indoor aileron wing.just waiting for the motor to arrive from tinternet, would like to have it flying for Sat night indoor flying but it will be cutting it to fine I think.
  3. Hi alli'm 61electric sport IC sportBeen in RC since 1970's before RC I had rubber FF, IC control-line I build from plans useing balsa or depron  and own no artf.
  4. I left out that it is a 4 stroke kind regards to all
  5. Hi All just a very quick (2) questions about the crank case breather on the underside of the engine which I think is for inserting after run oil into the crank case. should it be plugged when running the engine??? if not would it not be an air leak !! the reason for this Q is that it is not running as sweet as I think it should. what size prop would be best. I do not have the instructions for this engine as I bought it second hand fitted in a airframe
  6. HUMPF! more chance of winning the lotto  still if yo an't in't yo can't winit count me in please
  7. Hi All Do not forget p&p of £6.55 from birbek which all adds up I have now found the recipt from B&Q it was £11.88 which makes it £1.98 per sq m. But to return to the original Q: Depron works well for wing ribs and i also use it for formers in the fuz aft of the wing ie: low load bearers and hatch covers ect. If you want to cover it with heat shrink film turn down the iron to its lowest setting that will still melt the glue but not melt the Depron.
  8. Hi Martin, Not good news my laptop has died altogether but the ebay company the i used was depronfoam.co.uk email: [email protected]   I do not know just what it cost without serching through my bank statments. but i think it was around £12 plus p&p this was for three sheets 6mm and 3 sheets 3mm. I have just bought a pack of Floormaster foam from B&Q 6 sq meterseach piece is 1.2m x 0.5m x 6mm around £11 ish not used it yet feels, cuts, sands just like Depron but slightly less ridgid. The address for Floormaster  unit E, Albany park ind estate, Frimley road, camberley, Surrey. GU16 7QB  phone 01276 410200. Hope that this is some help
  9. Hi Martin I will look up who and how much but I will be a day or to as my laptop screen has died and its on the laptop where all the info is
  10. Hi All Try B&Q they do a depon (green) for under lam floors or ebay (white or grey), the last pack that i have from an ebay trader was a good price well packed and quick delivery 2/3 days. depron is an interesting material and i am still experimenting with it have not used it for wing ribs yet but i will soon. Regards Cpt Biggles
  11. Hi all, yes there is a setup button which if you hold down for 2/3 seonds it puts the rx into "setup"  I have now found out thank you all for looking regards Cpt Biggles
  12. Hi all, I Have a RCline SR-4F but no ins on how to set up the failsafe at the moment on loss of signal the elevator and rudder go to full travel (not good). thank you for looking Cpt Biggles
  13. Hi Timbo, Thank you for your reply The Rx is RCLINE  PPM 10 bit 35FM Failsafe 4 channel narrow band Rx SR-4F This is what is written on the case of the RX I have just noticed that there is a "setup" button to set the fail safe. Mmm fendishly clever and so small to!!! Hope that this is enough to work out an arial lenth. Kind Regards to all Cpt Biggles
  14. Hi all, Mode one because it’s the best forgets the rest. Interesting observation regarding the midlands generally flying mode one I learnt to fly in Nottingham but in a club of about 100 there was only a handful of mode one flyer's (4) and they were manly competition flyers. I was taught by a competition flyer and he could fly a house brick if the engine was big enough on mode one obviously I have flown mode 2 but like others on this thread I do not comfortable with a mode that feels wrong handed to me. Must admit to starting RC in the early 1970's so that must make me dinosaur. I am currently in two clubs in north Norfolk UK and in one club I am the only mode 1 flyer, but in the other club there are a good number of mode 1 ‘s Mostly youngsters ie: under thirty (that’s young for this hobby) regards to all even mode 2's
  15. Hi All I have just bought a second hand plane and with it came a 35MHz Rx. Now on a range check it would appear that there is a problem with the range. When i put a tape on the ariel it is only 24" long but my own Rx has an aerial 39" long. Q: has some bright spark cut the aerial or could it be made that length and the Rx tuned to the shorter aerial I would like to say that I have spotted this before flying the plane BUT It was after landing the plane (in one piece)  having suffered an inpromptue full down elevator dive that i looked for why. regards
  16. Win or not----------- it's good clean fun reading the posts. So count me in to.
  17. Hi Erfolg, nice to hear from you it was a nice surprise to see this old thread active again. it is an interesting situation that so many "old modelers" are returning to this wonderful hobby. all I can say about buying Balsa is that there is now less stock carried by shops as a result of ARTF and less building shop cannot carry large amounts of stock that moves slowly. please let us know how you get on. regards Peter
  18. Hi Tafkam, thank you for your reply  I did notice the hole in the fuz side and was puzzled as it's purpose but now i know As i have increased the size i have also increased the power plant as follows       SP 20A ESC Speed controller       LM Loong max 800 2S1P 20C-30C Lipo Battery (Oops! it will not go though the little hole)      EMAX CF2805 26 Gram Outrunner Brushless Motor 2840KV 14A   I have not chosen a propeller yet, printed on the motor it suggests 5"/6" prop but in the info on the web site where i bought it it suggests 6/7" prop. what with watts amps and potentially lethal lipos to cope with I need to have a lie-down in a dark room. Do not for one moment think that I know what I am doing, this is my first go at electric so I could be so so wrong about it all. and I know I will miss the IC smell of burning oil and Methanol !!! I am not concerned over the cowl because if I can not find a pop bottle will make one (a cowl not a pop bottle) I have a wood lathe, but I have never made wheels, I have always used commercial offerings so i would not know where to start making wheels. I will  be flying off and hopefully with a bit of luck back onto grass. just to let you know After a brief search i found the tx in a cupboard perhaps because i have not been flying yet. I must admit that i only have one Rx on 2.4 so i am reluctant to encapsulate it in the model for ever
  19. Hi All, Just started my Fokker tripe and it is going well i have cut the wings 6mm bottom 3mm mid & upper and then bent them by rolling the wing over a broom handle on the bench. i have half built the fuzz, but i now have some Q, (1) how do you get to the Lipo or tx when fully built as the bottom wing is glued on?   (2) how do you make the wheels (3)  well i do not remember the third Q but there will be one! oh now i remember has anyone built a 10% bigger tripe? mine will be 15% bigger because that is what my printer/copier has on it. At 15% bigger it is still small and i will have problems finding a bottle the right size. I am sorry if the above Q have been asked and answered already but a quick look through did not show the answers   regards toall Cpt Biggles
  20. Hi Timbo thank you for the reply had a quick look at HTH HERE but it is not the same model the one over the pond looks like a foam job profile i think. asked my local model shop if they could get me one of the Centoryuk  they said yes but advised me that they think it is not very well made and underpowered just wondered if this was a general opinion
  21.
