Can't even remember the last time I went , 1970 or '71 I think so count me in please!

Thanks , she flies a treat, didn't bother with spats as we can only fly from grass which is not always as short as it could be, have modified the lower rudder shape to give more ground clearance and fitted the tail wheel to the fus instead of the rudder , so not steerable now ( responds enough for take off tracking) but it saves the rudder from continual battering on the ground.

Thanks David , nice meeting you at Headcorn on the Saturday of Southern Model Air Show.......Trevor

I attended on Saturday , travelled from Ramsgate by motorcycle and got a soaking along the Thanet Way , nearly turned back but so glad I didn't , there was a noticable lack of traders but I got all the bits and pieces on my shopping list , thoroughly enjoyed the flying, and caught up with some of my flying friends. Full marks to the marshal at the gate for directing me into the airdrome hard standing for my bike. Lets hope for better weather next year!.......Trevor

Quite right too! I attended on the Saturday and had a great time, the models and flying being first class. Didn't see the Lanc ,perhaps that was there on Sunday, plus I won a raffle prize ! Now looking forward to next year's!.......Trevor

I recently purchased the Sky Scout which is an Easy Star Mk2 completed by Hytec and just needs a Rx and battery . Servos are HS55 s on rudder and elevator only , ailerons can be enabled if desired ( the hardware is included) , the tailplane can be easily removed and the whole thing fits back in its box for transport , plus it's a great flyer!

I think this is a classic case of the mark 1 being an improvement over the mark 2 !

I bought a rtf Sky Scout from SMC , after two months the elevator servo failed ( fortunately in neutral position so model landed ok!) , after sending an email a replacement servo was on my doormat within two days . I have always had excellent service from SMC !

Manston air show may have been less chaotic had it been over two days but then I s'pose it comes down to money . Hopefully the problems will be identified and addressed for the next (if there is) one.

Hoping to make it there on Sunday!

I went in by bike so no problems however I did feel sorry for those that came in from miles away and ended up in a jam for hours and then didn't even get in! Felt slightly dissappointed with the show overall, it lacked a certain atmosphere, half the planes didn't fly but this was because of the (never ending) strong wind which totally got on my nerves! Great to see the Vulcan fly but got the impression he didn't waste too much fuel on his display! Not sure if I'll bother next time.

Flew my Acrowot on Wednesday at the local field where the strong easterly was creating some (alot) turbulance , it soon became clear that I wasn't going to land very nicely, sure enough it resulted in a broken prop and severed undercarriage! but no other damage. With that behind us we then went to the nearest bit of cliff that faced roughly East and duly threw the Merlin towards France , lift was not brilliant but she flew well in the conditions eventually bringing her round for a surprising perfect landing , then it was off to the nearest cafe for lunch and coffee, thoroughly enjoyable day!

Some also had assymetric wings, i.e. the inboard wing was longer than the outboard wing , theory being it helped maintain line tension . I used to fly a K.K. Spectre which was built like this .

Credit where credit is due , I went on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself , a couple of full size treats and the models and standard of flying are an inspiration , traders were a bit thin on the ground though , otherwise good job!
