  1. Credit where credit is due , I went on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed myself , a couple of full size treats and the models and standard of flying are an inspiration , traders were a bit thin on the ground though , otherwise good job!
  2. Forgive me if this is wrong or posted by someone else but check out Quest tv channel Sat 1st Aug at 07:00 , Model Magic, Richard Blizzard is building and flying a model Spitfire. Edited By Trots on 26/07/2015 12:47:12
  3. This is always a cracking event, God willing I'll be there !
  4. Great pics and models! Here is the real thing in B.A. livery right over my house on finals to Manston earlier this year.

  6. Can't even remember the last time I went , 1970 or '71 I think so count me in please!
  7. Thanks , she flies a treat, didn't bother with spats as we can only fly from grass which is not always as short as it could be, have modified the lower rudder shape to give more ground clearance and fitted the tail wheel to the fus instead of the rudder , so not steerable now ( responds enough for take off tracking) but it saves the rudder from continual battering on the ground.
  8. Thanks David , nice meeting you at Headcorn on the Saturday of Southern Model Air Show.......Trevor
  9. Here as promised is my completed Super Slinky , if she survives further flights I may add some white or yellow trim etc . Maidened a couple of days ago , a bit scary to start with but now think I have her tamed !
  10. I attended on Saturday , travelled from Ramsgate by motorcycle and got a soaking along the Thanet Way , nearly turned back but so glad I didn't , there was a noticable lack of traders but I got all the bits and pieces on my shopping list , thoroughly enjoyed the flying, and caught up with some of my flying friends. Full marks to the marshal at the gate for directing me into the airdrome hard standing for my bike. Lets hope for better weather next year!.......Trevor Edited By Trots on 16/09/2013 07:08:57
  11. I'm going probably Sunday with my son, but will also be monitoring the weather!.......Trevor
  12. Quite right too! I attended on the Saturday and had a great time, the models and flying being first class. Didn't see the Lanc ,perhaps that was there on Sunday, plus I won a raffle prize ! Now looking forward to next year's!.......Trevor
  13. I recently purchased the Sky Scout which is an Easy Star Mk2 completed by Hytec and just needs a Rx and battery . Servos are HS55 s on rudder and elevator only , ailerons can be enabled if desired ( the hardware is included) , the tailplane can be easily removed and the whole thing fits back in its box for transport , plus it's a great flyer!
  14. I think this is a classic case of the mark 1 being an improvement over the mark 2 !
  15. I bought a rtf Sky Scout from SMC , after two months the elevator servo failed ( fortunately in neutral position so model landed ok!) , after sending an email a replacement servo was on my doormat within two days . I have always had excellent service from SMC !
  16. Manston air show may have been less chaotic had it been over two days but then I s'pose it comes down to money . Hopefully the problems will be identified and addressed for the next (if there is) one.
  17. I went in by bike so no problems however I did feel sorry for those that came in from miles away and ended up in a jam for hours and then didn't even get in! Felt slightly dissappointed with the show overall, it lacked a certain atmosphere, half the planes didn't fly but this was because of the (never ending) strong wind which totally got on my nerves! Great to see the Vulcan fly but got the impression he didn't  waste too much fuel on his display!  Not sure if I'll bother next time. Edited By Trots on 24/06/2013 07:20:23
  18. Not brilliant photos but here is XH558 on finals into Manston runway 28 yesterday (Sat 15th) and static after landing in a very strong crosswind !
