  1. Posted by Phil 9 on 31/03/2017 21:08:48: I liked Capt Triggers. I love his enthusiasm for everything Triggers was my favourite as well. I agreed with most of what he said, apart from the Viper incident. I would have thought that a potential war-winning aeroplane with faults (he didn't like the rotary engine for one) was better than being slaughtered in the sky. I wont give the end away, but I was cheering at the last scene.
  2. Forgot to mention that they need the guts from a Parkzone/E-flight micro flyer. They are also quite robust as the demonstrator SE5A flew into a tent pole on more than one occasion!
  3. I spotted the Micro Aces stand at W&W. They have some very pretty WW1 types including the Se5A, Fokker D7 and the Bristol Fighter with more on the way! I was so impressed that I bought a SE5A. Their website is here
  4. Just noticed that there appears to be a HK fly in at Rougham on the 2nd and 3rd of July. I've not seen much info on it but tickets seem to be available. Are these required if you are going but not flying??? Also why Rougham and not at Elmsett?
  5. Whilst it was a great feat of flying and an incredible logistics exercise I'm not sure that one bomb on one runway makes the Vulcan a top ten bomber. What about the Panavia Tornado? Still doing the business, and will be in service until 2025. That's 50 years after the first flight!

    HK Me163

Got one for Christmas . Can anyone confirm whether the GC stated in the manual is correct? Its been known for HK to get it wrong sometimes. Found this on YT - a full size flying ME163!!!!
  7. Very interesting topic. I've just replaced the round SLEC tank in one of my models as the brass pipes had split and corroded like Stevo had experienced. I've had to use the same type of tank but when testing I've noticed that the clunk pipe is too stiff and exposes the supplied clunk to air when the models nose is pushed down too far, causing the FS glow to cut. Is there a better flexible pipe or clunk suitable for glow fuel than the one supplied? I'm thinking one of these might help-
  8. E-flite have just brought out a 2m span T28. Looks nice, and appears to fly well too! Further details here Cheapest price over here looks to be around £365.00. Mind you, that's quite a chunk of foam the guy is holding.
  9. Ok, no way in the world is this scale flying, but impressed the heck out of me!
  10. All hail Mark 'tree cutter' Hinton!!!! He put on a sterling display with several of his aircraft, one of which got a teeny weeny bit close to a tree but came away unscathed. Phew! Sir, you are a star. The weather came good and there was some great flying by all who took part. The number of traders was down from last year, but that was to be expected. The best display for me was the 1/2 scale Bleriot Monoplane. It handled the nasty crosswind with disdain. A fantastic piece of flying.
  11. My bad. It does have a pressure sensor, hidden away on the GPS board.
  12. Merry Christmas everyone! I've got a stinking cold, and have only just felt like having a beer. Been on those powder things that sound a bit like 'cowslips'. Now the first ones out of the way its beginning to feel a bit more like Christmas! Might even feel like a bite of turkey after the second one. Mrs Read has been looking after me very well, bless her, and I've got a Motor Gilder flight to look forward to when I'm rid of this damn cold. Woo-hoo!
  13. Thanks Cymaz, I found something similar, that's why I went for the larger prop. Maybe try the 11x7 next. Still don't know why the prop got thrown quicker on the larger prop as compared with the smaller 10x6. I'll make the fuel mix a bit richer and see what happens.
  14. Thanks guys, It was a Graupner GF prop and its the correct OS four stroke plug. I turned out the needle 3 full turns, so it should not be too lean (I would have thought). The spinner idea is good until I find the problem, but that still means £5.00 a prop! For about a 30 second motor run that's quite expensive! I stand well behind the model when running up having seen the velocity of prop going in one direction and the nut in the other. This may be a stupid idea, but how about adding some castor oil to the fuel?
