Now now, calm down. Altogether now , deep breath , and ......relax. Wow, just walked into the cafe and i think i may have tripped over a saucer or two of milk !. Changing the subject slightly i got my first proper day on the slope today. The slope i flew from being Edge Top in the Staffordshire moorlands, and the model ? a pre-loved ( for loved , read well flown, bounced, abused and hard worked.) SAS wildthing.Armed with Tx , warm hat and facing a stiff southerly breeze, all that was left to do was get religious and launch. SHE FLIES! and not an engine to be heard. So is it the power of prayer or gravity, lift, and thumbs all working together ,spooky!. .Answers please on a postcard. Have fun, and dont break anything. Les

Couldn,t resist cheating . I was pretty sure about the wild thing as i have just bought one second hand and i am confident that i dont have room to fit that engine.

If thats a wild thing ,I AIN,T CHUCKIN IT FOR YA. ...... So its an Airbus...and i still aint chuckin it !!!..

Does any one know how to program a dx7 for use on a full house sailplane to enable crow breaking . I am happy with my dx7 for planes and helis and don,t want to change tx if i can avoid it.

Another vote for a Tiger Moth. -
Hi folks, I came back to the sport last year , 7 years after a brief intro at a flight training school. Landings were not a problem but taking off was another matter. I had at least 6 flights with the club training officer before i felt ready to push that throttle forward and head accross the patch and skyward. ( i think the first attempt resulted in a round tour of the patch) . Patience and support from the training officer and other club members has seen me enjoy many solo flights in the last 8 months with only one disaster so i would always reccomend this route to all newcomers. I have now bought my first heli and have joined another club to learn how to fly .It,s a raptor 30 and i will keep you posted . should be fun.

Setting up electric glider
Les Littleton replied to Les Littleton's topic in General Electric Flight Chat
Thanks to all who have helped me with this one . I think everything is now sorted on an opto set up , the scorpion 400watt motor pulls the glider up into the blue with authority and is great fun to fly. This elastic trickery is good fun .(and i can fly before 10 am at the club site). -
Hi all, can any one help with programming a brushless esc. the motor runs fine but i would like to be able to brake the motor instead of windmilling . the esc is chinese and was in a second hand model but i dont know much more about it ! .

Hi , we are all feeling the effects of the current economic climate every time we go to the shops, and now these increases have made there way into the model shops . I know that it is a difficult time for the trade because so much of what we use is imported. If you take a look at exchange rates the pound is worth less than it was a few months ago, however, the recent price rises published by some distributors are way above what would be needed to acccount for the devalued pound! Am i the only one who thinks there is an element of profitering. Maybe these companys are related to the oil companys,or have just decided to jump on the band wagon.

Setting up electric glider
Les Littleton replied to Les Littleton's topic in General Electric Flight Chat
Thanks both for your help . I,ve looked closely and the red wire from the esc has been removed from the plug , so i have set this on the throttle and will use 500mah bat for rx supply . Thanks again , I may even begin to understand the basics of this elastic trickery in time . Have fun. -
I have just purchased a second hand glider that is fitted with a brushless motor and esc for a 3s lipo ,there is also a 500mah battery onboard with a switch on the fuz. i assume this is to power the rx and servos. Is this an OPTO set up and if so can some one help with info on how to set everything up on the rx. cheers.
