  1. Hi, I never expected it to be a all out thermal machine but if it catches the odd thermal and can get longer flight times by just toogling along on low throttle than that will suit me. One more question if i may and that is regarding the stall , has got any nasty surprises such as a tendency to tip stall. Thank you.
  2. Hi, Thank you for your feed back, regarding your video i have watched numerous times looks like it flys well. Could you tell me how well it thermals . Thank you.
  3. Hi, Couple of years ago i was looking to build the ASK-11 glider but never got round to it but now i have more time on my hands so iam asking how difficult is this glider to build regarding wing joiner, any wash out in wings and so on. I class myself as a intermediate builder but don't want to set something on i can not finish. Was hoping to get in touch with Chris via scale soaring but can not post a question so was hoping somebody or chris might respond on this forum. Thank you for any help.
  4. Even something like the cambrian models where it needs a good launch. When i can i usually launch myself but if needing a hefty launch i let a clubfeet launch it.
  5. I suppose regarding launching if i can not launch myself i am going to need a helper every time not good if i want to fly alone.
  6. Okay thanks. I think weston park is coming up pretty soon so might get a closer look at both hopefully.
  7. Sorry guys i have mislead you slightly. First it has to be electric, second i was looking at something to build myself and iam not too bothered about all out speed as i have a couple of models that are ballistic. I looked at the Me-109 simple because you built it yourself (something to past my time with in the evenings) and it looked something like scale. my main concern is does it fly well and how fast does in come in when landing. Been on Cambria funfighters website but not a lot of imfo, are these models better than cambrian gunfighters.
  8. Hi, so which model are you talking about in your previous post. have been looking at the cambria model do you think they are better.
  9. Okay, Seems like a decent model and value for money. Thank you for your comments.
  10. Was looking to purchase the Cambrian models electric ME-109 and was wondering if anybody can comment on this model regarding building and flying capabilities. bought the Elan glider from them a couple of years ago and was pleased withe the build and flying.
  11. Iam now ready to start on the fuslarge will keep your mistake in mind. When i cut the ribs i used the sandwich method which left me with a 4mm hole in each rib so i was thinking of sliding some carbon tube down the wings to give some extra strength.
  12. i have not joined the wings yet but set the inmost rib so the dihedral was 52mm either side, so you are saying when joining the wings you will have 104mm either side.
  13. I am also building the Kestrel and was wondering how to determine the CG. the plan shows 1/34 from the leading edge but was wondering if you balance the Kestrel like a normal fixed wing.
  14. I have made my first mistake but easily rectified. When assembling the wing i forgot to let the trailing edge of the rib insert into the 10x5mm trailing edge. Will put small triangular balsa either side of the ribs where it meets the trailing edge.
  15. Okay, will bear that in mind. Not be long as i have only one more wing section to build.
  16. Hi, I see nobody has posted for a while so iam hoping this post will kick start the discussion.I have had this plan since it was released and looked at it many times but got put to the back of my drawer. i bought a DLG a while back and being expensive i wished i had built the Sonny. Anyway due to recent ill health i have plenty of time on my hands and so i have started the Sonny build. I have built the fin, rudder and tail plane , elev and now on with the wings. Should have it built before we get some decent weather i hope but would love to hear how other people have got on with the Sonny.
  17. I have eventually got round to maiden my Cirrus Moth and would just like to say that it flew a treat. Did not need one click of trim at all so if anybody thinking of buying one of these kits you will not go wrong at all. Altogether i would say a top class kit and a pleasure to fly.
  18. Hi everyone, Just started covering my Cirrus Moth and now iam hoping for suggestions regarding the electric set up please if possible. Iam installing a servo in each wing so would i be better using mini servos but what size for the rudder, elev. This kit has been a delight to build regarding fitting of all parts and if it flys as good as it has gone together then i will be a happy chap.
  19. Could put some pictures on but really no difference to what the other guys have posted on various threads on this forum.
  20. Have not posted for a while but thought i would let you guys know how iam getting on. All wings are now completed and now on with the ailerons and would also like to say that this kit is top notch regarding fitting of all parts.
  21. Just about finished my Elan glider and with nothing to do decided to start my Moth. First impressions regarding the kit is that it is nicely packed and the laser cutting is also very good and the parts just needed a sharp knife to remove them from the sheet which i think is okay because i once had a kit where the laser cutting was too good meaning that once you handled the sheeting the lot fell out. Anyway i have completed the rudder and almost finished the tailplane, elev and then probably start on the wings next. best regards Glen
  22. Almost did but put temptation to one side and ended up just with the instructions to read. I think this will be a challenge this coming winter as i have not built from a kit for a while and certainly not a bipe, most have been ARTF models. I have being flying electric for a few years now but after watching a few videos on you tube iam tempted to stick a 4/stroke in sounds nice.
  23. Ordered yesterday, received my Cirrus moth this morning thats what i call fast service.
  24. At last i have made my mind up and gone for the Cirrus Moth. I ordered this morning so looking forward to starting on this build so most likely be asking a lot more questions regarding the build. Just got to finish off my Elan glider first. Thank for all your help regarding this matter. Glen
  25. Pretty sure i have damaged the tip. I have used sandpaper to clean the tip which brings out the copper in the tip and i can get around 3/4 bullet connectors soldered before it goes black once again and the solder just rolls of the tip. Will try and source another tip. best regards Glen
