1. hi delta whisky, which version flybar you got ? I believe the v1 is thinner than the v2? some times the 'casting' needs to be opened up a bit and it will fit the bearing ok. but nice to know there may be a prob. regards don
2. hi kim no, BUT........................... you need to be able to fly to set it up mate, these are designed for scale etc with flybarless heads, google radds for flight training, it will save you a lot of dosh, there is no short cut to flying helis, only the long, hard, expensive, route we all took I'm afraid, get a fixed pitch  - df4 or esky honey bee, they are good trainers and cheap to repair, easy to setup. reagrds don
3. hi birdy, are you using the stock tx? if your throttle is 'jumpy' it could be a 'dirty pot' these are made cheaply and some 'dust up' quickly - its like the volume control on a radio - try some 'wd40' or similr to 'washout' the throttle pot. as for the light on the 4 in 1 going red that is usualy a sign its getting 'full' signal. as for blades, they need to be 'perfectly balanced' to avoid 'vibs' and can be out of ballance straight from the packet, odd blades rarely match - they can when you acumalate a few odd ones - :-} regards don Edited By DON WILSON on 31/05/2009 23:17:28
4. hi guys. your ok with the 'black hawk' , 'hkh 450' , or the 'hk 450' they are all plastic head v1 trex frame v 2 trex compatable. I got the 'HKH 450' and have just gone flybar less with it, cheap but nice frame, if setup properly its as good as a rex!! at £30+ you wont get a better frame, even if you do as I did and throw the head etc in the spares box its still cheap. the tail main gear tends to slip on the shaft so swap that out for trex and the screws are crap so need a align or similar frame screw set. but yes its good here is a vid while playing with pit and th curves for the flybarless head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ggdWl6AV50   still playing with the curves no extra electronics just a good tx :-} regards don Edited By DON WILSON on 31/05/2009 23:01:52 Edited By DON WILSON on 31/05/2009 23:04:25
5. hi guys  thats where I am getting my blades  - RC711.com  - superb price even with post, time is the prob . regards don
6. hi kevin thats good to hear about motors not tried the blades yet but got 6 sets as she still learning, hope extremm getsomething out soon, perhaps waiting for this model to 'take off' regards don
7. hi all  hahaha so how do you post a pic then?? regards don
8. hi kevin, let us know how the motors are doing , I got my supply of blades today,       black  with green stipeing and red and blue tracking markings, not tried them yet though. have to check back where from and price, regards don Edited By DON WILSON on 16/04/2009 00:32:05
9. hi kevin that sounds good to me regards don
10. hi kevin. the 53Q blades  are ok but not any better than the origionals.  waiting to see if the xtrem people pickup on this and turn out some harder blades   regards don
11. HI KEVIN. i HAVE THE BLUE/SILVER AIRWOLF ONES but alas the blades are no stronger than the origionals. regards don
12. hi kevin is that the origional blades? my silver and blue 53Q blades seem ok in doors, not tried them outside yet. where you get yours kevin? regards don
13. hi kevin. yes the airy blades are terrible, the 53Q blades are the same size as the lama, got mine todat , flexible like the airy but seem stronger, did chip one today in front room but on a chair leg at fast headspeed . look good too , going to cut some down for my w38 chinook try them on that, they dont hardly flex at all in flight even under hard liftout but sound good when you do that you will have to put a note with the next purchase saying NO airy's. actualy they are not the 53Q blades but the airwolf ones.............     regrads don   Edited By DON WILSON on 01/04/2009 02:08:37
14. hi kevin http://www.rcmods.co.uk/hm-5g4q3-z-02-main-rotor-blades-i609668.html  bought from them befor seem ok, cant remember what thier del like but says -   If your order was placed before 3:00pm (Mon-Fri) it will be dispatched same day.  -   main rotor diam only 408mm not 450mm so about 20mm shorter - depending on the size of the blade holders. they are 5mm too long for my walkera 38 so can go there if not enough lift for the lama, but seems the big lama has stacks of lift with origional blades so should be ok with little less, just more head speed. so we shall see , regards don   Edited By DON WILSON on 27/03/2009 22:21:37
15. hi kevin, I think when they make them they 'pull' the plastic lengthwise whith makes them stronger for blade-clashes but they 'split along the grain' so to speak just ordered the 53q blades these will fit lama500, esky big lama, and will cut down to fit the w38 as well. and cheaper........ see how they last  regards don Edited By DON WILSON on 27/03/2009 10:28:50
16. hi guys, I tried airy blades on the lama500 not impressed they split up the middle - they only test them for 'snaping' - regards don
17. hi owen. thanks for the confermation mate, will defo order these then, Ive got the w 38 as well, same size blade holders as the 500,but the blades are 20mm shorter, -cut them down - so should be ok for that as well . I like this when you can sort 1 part to fit across several models. see about bulk buys regards don
18. hi kevin walkera 53Q blades are a similar size £5 + one set of 4. I am going to try these this week.not sure of the root size though     regards don Edited By DON WILSON on 24/03/2009 21:59:44
19. hi kevin, try artechMD500 spares  same motors shaft size different blade holder same gears etc. regaqrds don
20. hi kevin good to hear mate, must remember that trick, the shafts must be fairly close fit then eh? good flying mate regards don
21. hi kevin thats good to hear mate,  second person that has said they are worth it,   any one seen better blades?  not airy tried those expensive and no better to my mind, the artech md 500 uses similar blade but much thicker root, but I dont think they are any better to warrent swaping blade holders to accomadete them,. regards don
22. hi kevi. could be the top of your inner shaft is bent at angle, or the flybar is bent or the wieghts have shifted. check ballance bar for  ballance - when out of heli- spoolup without blades slowly to see if the center top 'wobles' regards don
23. hi kevin I think heli guy has complete upgrade, if not the esky -purple- is on ebay.  cant find spares for this at blink site. must have been ebay, they are out there http://www.heliguy.com/Electric-RC-Helicopters/ESKY-Big-Lama/Big-Lama-CNC-Upgrade-Pack/ from the heliguy page Big Lama CNC upgrade pack - consists of blade grips, inner shaft and swashplate. With a purple anodised finsh that looks great and a quality that means improved stability in flight
24. hi kevin. re upgrades look at the shafts for the MD500 at blink........... they are slow but have silver shafts - metal. not the 'pink' ones of esky. regards don
