  3. Morning all,   Essex is under the white blanket from about 10pm last night, about 15cm (6") and still going strong. Left car at home and took taxi into work as it is an auto and spent most of my journey home last night sideways. Good news is I can still fly as I won the Nano Neon Heli in the comp.   Bad news is I have run out of scotch.   Steve
  4. I would like to second that chain of thought re Leeds MS. Like Erfolg I ordered a R617FS Rx from them on Monday Afternoon and it dropped through my letterbox on Tuesday, You cannot get better than that.. Cheapest in the market for Futaba 617's at sub £50 plus postage so thought I would get in before the VAT increase. Well done Leeds, service like that will always get my custom..   Steve

  6. We often read on this section about the downfalls of ordering goods from certain suppliers who do not provide the level of service that we expect and this is vital information and knowledge that we need in this internet world. It is also nice to dish out praise when it all goes right and you receive a level of service which is outstanding. I recently placed an order with Century UK Ltd which was placed on the 17th Nov in the morning, the goods arrived well packaged on the 18th Nov, now thats what I call service. Well done Century UK your comittment to providing good service has been well noted by me and I will sing your praises from on high. 7. I attended the nationals on Saturday and was looking around the trade show as one does, and of course could not resist the temptation to buy yet another aeroplane (E-Flight Ultimate 10e). I am one of those modellers that tries not to rob one model for the bits to complete the latest one so off I wnt in search of all the goodies required to get the Ultimate up and running, having sourced the motor and esc I came across some servos on the RCM Direct stand and having obtained 4 of them I presented my card to pay for them. The remote card reader failed to fire up and singularly refused to connect to the network, after about 20 minutes of vain attempts the guy behind the counter took my card out of the reader and said that he was giving up, I went to return the servos back to him and resume the search when he said no, keep the servos and put a cheque in the post on Tuesday to cover the cost. Wow, that actually caught me by suprise, he indicated that he trusted me to send him the money which I have duly done and e-mailed him to let him know that it is in the post. In this day and age I find it remarkable that a complete stranger has that much trust and it renewed my faith in human nature. As he said, you are an aeromodeller and they are honest people. So well done RCM Direct, you are a company that I will use again with no hesitation.
  8. Hi,   I will be going along to the Nats, This will be my fourth visit to this particular event, will be there on the Saturday hoping to purchase the next model to fill in the gap made by selling my Goldberg Ultimate. Thing I like about the Nats is the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that you just jump in the car and travel to wherever the fancy takes you. Lets hope the weather gods are on our side.   Steve Edited By Boss on 21/08/2009 10:37:26 Edited By Boss on 21/08/2009 10:38:07
  9. Couldn't agree more, what a fantastic day, Gregg you must have a direct line to the upstairs weather dept, I have been to quite a few of your events over at Bickley now and I think the sun has shone at every one I have been to. Long may it continue, Well done Bickley for yet another outstanding event.
  10. Hi Cpt,  Are you refering to the Art Tech Christian Eagle sold by Century UK, if so this is a foam model of 34" span fitted with a Brushless motor and 1300mAh 11.1V Lipo. Century were selling these at the Wings and Wheels show in Essex for £60 complete and ready to go including radio and  the flight sim as well. I could'nt resist at that price and got one. The first flight was last sunday and it performed OK. It is not ballistic by any means, but is quite pleasent to fly. I converted mine to 2.4G radio, you have to trade off height for speed to get any decent aerobatic capability but it proved to be a steady flyer and I am quite pleased with it. The other advantage is that it goes back into the box for holiday transportation which is nice.
  11. Lets try again as in the old adage "If at first you don't succeed, suck eggs"

  13. Started out with Staveley Tonelock single channel which had a 12 foot aerial and a red post office switch for left and right control. Fitted it in my own design (Sharkface ish) model which flew well, only thing was the set had no indication for what state the battery was in, therefore, more often than not I would end up chasing the model with Tx held high hoping to reconnect and get it back.  Swiftly followed by a Digimac IV which was OK when it worked. This was in a Veron Robot which clapped hands on the approach and I sold both sets the same day to go into the Disco business for 8 years.  On return to hobby I swopped a CB set for some ACOMS 4 channel which was fine. Current sets are:- Futaba FF6 JR PCM10 Futaba 6EX 2.4 All the above have never missed a beat
  14. I suppose that you will have to enter me in for this draw as well
  15. Hi everybody, This is my first post on the site and thought I would add my experience. I am currently flying a Ripmax Easystreet which uses a brushless set up of an AXI 2814/10 coupled to a Tornado ESC and 3S 2200 LiPo. The Rx is a standard JETI 4 ch (Cheap and cheerful) and is placed in the same bay as the ESC with the aerial inside the fuz and no ferrites fitted anywhere. In two years of running I have not had any problems with interference or glitches using my PCM10 JR Tx. When the set up was brushed I had nothing but glitches due to arcs and sparks from the brushes. Maybe I have been lucky, but I use a similar set up by Hyperion on a spitfire and again no problems encountered. I am in the process of moving over to 2.4 Gig slowly as funds permit.  Boss
