  1. mmm  70 you say   thinking the tt75 then - littler more power than the os70 and 200g lighter than asp91 - -but my 2 stroke asp's have been awesome   ta
  2. I'm just finishing a 58 inch Glens cap.   Should be around target weight. I've heard it needs a bit of nose weight to balance. (glen states irvine 53 ideal )   However want my first 4 stroke- but want the plane to have easy power for big verticals and hovering.   I am thinking - on a budget dont you know- of eithe ASP 91, ASP 80 or outsider TT F75 s - the new one (as its quite a bit lighter and compact in comparison and sits between the two asp's in power).   Or do i just go for 2 stroke asp 70 and be done with it and save some cash?   arrrgghh nearly clicked "confirm purchase" a few times cant decide.
  3. I am shortly going to have a Glens CAP 232 in the air.   Has anyone got any engine recommendations. I would like to go 4 stroke (be my first) but pennies or lack thereof might prevent that (unless anyone wants to sell me one for approx price new 2 stroke).   So far I am looking at either JEN 57 (maybe with a pitts style muffler) or go for something like an sc61 - cos apparently you need a bit of lead up front on the CAP.   My biggest engine so far has been a Jen 57 in a WOT 4 which went okay but needed to wind up and big loops more than possible but not what i would call effortless.   The CAP is being sprayed with 4 different metallic flake colours and sealed with scratch proof lacquer - ahh the joys of a paint shop where you work - I'll post those up when done if any interest.   Ta   MB
  4. Thanks Simon   Its as if you knew exactly what i wanted to hear

  9. Hi   On the off chance that I might  save some money.   Have just bought a new HiTec 6ch Dual Con RX  - £22 - seems good value to me.   I have always had Futaba though so all my crystals are Futaba. Will the rx crystal work?   I know that everyone says like for like but i cant imagine all the manufacturers make their own.   Any insight?   MB
  10. eric, dont waste your money  i've got a spare betamax camera with 24v lead acid battery and two spare tapes you can have for £35, whack some 20% in whatever you gaffa tape it too and pretty sure it will fly, probably
  11. cant remember which sale of goods act change it was, think 1989, but an "invitation to treat" and an acceptance of that offer is a binding contract.  despite being poor practice and bad customer service I would suggest that trading standards would probably provide a slap on the wrist for falsly advertising the price of the goods. it may also be that said model shop has a sale or return  type arrangement with futaba, in as much that they hold stock and buy what they sell in arrears. In that case they would suffer from the exchange rates (they havent bought the unit until they have sold it on effectively). Yaboo sucks i say cos the smaller stores have to commit to buy x volume or not be supplied. as always waiting to be shot down for my comments, even though gone to 2.4 (bought from local modelshop not too far from one mentioned in thread and yes i did get a discount)
  12. Good point Eric.  I have only recognised 1 person from Winchester Club though probably cos look at different threads though I am sure if their was a faciltiy the club would promote that in the newsletter. Bound to add to the social side of our hobby - how many times have you gone flying, been there for hours and had one flight because of the genial banter that goes on can be just as much fun?
  13. I think definitely. We have an email newsletter and a non interactive website but communication aside from that is literally if you see someone at the field. With over 100 members you often dont see a friend for months, think it would be a valuable and useful tool - and fun.  Might be nice to broker relationships with adjacent clubs - is always fun to fly somehwere new.  Think it could work if not only for the club to contact members but for the members to be able to contact each other.  MB
