  1. Looks a good price. Will it knife edge, rolling harrier etc or do I need a full 3d plane? If it wasn't for the sides I probably wouldn't need to ask. I just want something compact but fun and cheap to run that I can develop my flying skills with. Maybe I need a different style of plane, I don't know though. Good to know people trust it and it prop hangs well and has power to pull out on a 36. I missed last months mag do missed the review, didn't look at this plane until last week. I have been flying a rc factory rs352, it does everything I ask, but want a ic version of a 3d fun plane. I still would have prefered brighter colours on this though for a 'fun' fly and different scheme top and bottom, but I guess I could change that at extra cost. If there is a mark 2, a nicer colour scheme would be great in my opinion, but maybe it's clear in the air ) Thats a big price drop!!! Thank you
  2. Be good good to know the RX battery people use too to get that CofG right. I'm using a Spektrum DX8 radio, have a ar8000 rx, might be a bit big, any other suggestions? I cannot seem to find anything much on this plane when searching, is that a worry?
  3. Any more reviews for the Jive? I was seon getting the Cougar with the electric set-up, but want to get into ic again really. What is it like compared to the Cougar? What is the knife edge really like? Can the colour be changed, looks a bit dull, why so dull What run time do people get please on a tank of fuel? I usually use Contest 10 fuel. I like how Ripmax suggest their own servos, hope it flies as well as they say. I was considering a seggull funfly but this type of funfly may be more my thing. Will it have unliited vertical with the irvine 36 and 11x4 prop? Thank you.
  4. They are definatly not models for beginners and as has already been said, you need experience to fly them. As for beig fragile, yes they are light but I say some flown into walls, bastet ball nets (3 points!!!!) and rolling down school climbing equipment, picked up and flown again. It depends how they crash!!!! A little bit of foam safe glue and activator normally gets them back in the air again. I also saw one where the servo broke, reason for release the sticks and cut the throttle as it says in the manual.   However, a great model and just what I've been waiting for.
  5. We flew in a small sporthall and all was fine, but keeps you alert. CogG is essential and needs adjusting to suite your needs. I set mine up with 30% expo on high rates as per manual, but soon took the expo off as found it a little sluggish on the controls. Now it flies great
  6. Mine arrived today with 4 extra batteries. Should be a good fly-in tomorrow night Andy, maybe 4 in the air at once, some good formation flying ;o)   It looks a lot tougher than other micro's I've had, and much more rigid than a EPP micro I had last year. Bound no problem on the DX7. It is quite noisey though, much noisier than the vapor, more like the noise level of the small MSR heli. Covering seems solid and adds strength, not wobbky like the previous EPP micro I had. Good colour scheme too with black lined underwing for enhanced visability.   As for control throws, all seem smooth and solid with what looks like carbon fibre control rods making all controls solid and couldn't see any play in them so 3d should be fine and solid. Seems plenty of power then holding it up, about 3/4 throttle and it wants to pull verticle. Lots to torque from the little motor so torque rolls should be fun.   Not measured the CofG yet but the manual says 40mm from the leading edge, anyone found any different? Over all very impressed, will fly tomorrow night. Best have a go on the Phoenix sim tonight to practice of the bigger 4site model.   Oh, and the addition of the mains charger that can charge 4 batteries at once is a great reason for buying the BNF.   Edited By Boos Boy on 26/01/2010 20:42:06 Edited By Boos Boy on 26/01/2010 20:45:41

Well, tried the standard 10x4, goes like a rocket. 11x4 was a bit better and loads of lift, take off in a few feet. Tried a 12x6 but it didn't like that; didn;t have a 13x4 but trying it tomorrow as well as a 12.25x13x4. Also moved the CofG back to 5"; will go to 5.5" with 60g weight in the tail and weigh 4.1lbs like that. Will let you know how I get on with the props tomorrow as long as the wind is reasonable; although these planes seems to fly anyway.

Thanx for the reply. I'll take some props up thenteh field then later and give it a go; it pulls hard on the 10x4, so that gives me some idea; I'll just watch the revs as you said.
  9. Not other sites I'm aware of. I believe the online is a beta, so not officially online guaranteed.
  10. I can agree with the SUPER AIR, I ran it with an OS46LA (Lowest 46 OS do) with a 11x6 prop; will stall turn, loop, bunt, spin, inverted etc; will do the BMFA B no problem, and its cheap; approx £55 I believe. Only downside of it is the covering is the sticky stuff.

    Os 32SX

Hi, I've just bought a magic 3D second hand with an os32SX in it. its the mark 1 as reviewed in RCME APRIL 2003. Yes its an old mag I have here.  I'm a bit confused; it has a 10x4 prop on it, but the reveiwer Davie Mathews said he usually puts a 12.25x3.75 prop on these typ of planes; but put a 13x4 on it and it flew loads better, hovered at 1/2 throttle and enough to pull out of bad situations. My question is whether the 13x4 is suitable and if he was using a tuned pipe? I'm running constest 10 fuel and standard OS32SX. I've got a 13x4 and 12.25x3.75 here; just don;t want to over heat the little engine but want the best performance I can get as trying to learn 3D. Thanx.
  12. Its amazing what you find on these forums. I got a medvac for Christmas, then a mini47g, now looking to upgrade again and was wondering about the mini pred. Now I see teh is an E-flite Blade CP, what would you recommend between the mini pred and blade cp? I've already got futaba 2.4 set-up for my IC planes, so maybe something withour radio gear?
  13. I also looked at Pegasus at one f these. I got a medevac to start with and one of these later. I wanted the 5g6 but couldn't wait. I also tightrened the blades to start with after reading on oter forums. They also advised me on the 5 minute flying rule, good info as saves the battery too. You can also get heat sinks for teh motors: CNE060 at £3.99 each not sure if its worth it but I got some anyway for peace of mine. I have burnt one motor out but that was due to clipping a piece of furninture I was hovering near and stopping the motor. A few minutes later and one of teh spare motors installed and I was up and running again, these are good fun. Hope to move onto a full CP, even poss a raptor if I can find a second hand one.
