  1. Alright Alan B, The, Model your showing is not the one I was hoping to get and I'm not sure if the specs will be the same... The model I was after is dark blue with red and white markings like the russian display team. The model I'm after is produced by Art-Tech and I think yours is by Sukhoi is it not...
  2. Cheers for the Info I'll do some more digging around... If only learning about Electric was as easy as learning how to Whitewater Canoe
  3. Im totally lost on this electric subject. Its all so confusing. 1Amp is the same as 1Watt and the same as 1Volt so how can all these numbers be so confusing... - "Got this from online" I have a motor @ 960Kv so thats 960,000watts, divided by 11.1v = 86486.48Amps so I need a 90,000 ESC?? I dont think so. The one in the pack is a 25amp How can Watts = Volts x Amps when there all the same? - "Got this from online." Arrgghhh my head hurts
  4. Could a model using a 480, 960Kv outrunner brushless motor powered by a 11.1v 2100mAh 20(c) LiPo be setup to use a 14.8v 2100mAh 20(c) LiPo...? I know the Voltage is different but could it work?
  5. I hope to buy an SU-27 Flanker off E-bay and I'm wondering if anyone has had one and upgraded it?? Its the EDF Art-Tech Russian Night version judging by the pictures and so far any reviews I've read state its ok but could do with more power so can anyone help with surgested units etc  Thank you.
  6. Well Eric I used a tube thats almost 20yrs old, Really stretchy, Great. Do most of you guys use wings or full models for combat on the slope? I was thinking of picking up a wing but I'm a bit worried about setting it up...
  7. Too true, anyhow... Is anyone going to be up the Orme next week sometime between the 28th-1st?  When is your next big meet?
  8. Well I sliced one up and doubled it over and to be honest it could probably sling a full tin of beans quite far if I made it into a catapult, but so far I reckon it could work... Its raining up in Scotland so Im not going to try it out but the elastic is quite stretchy like a 1" elastic band and could snap if pulled hard enough, I'm not sure if the speed at which it travels is going to be ok though as it flys real quick unloaded...
  9. Yes, and I tried all of the above apart from replacing the engine as there was loose metal inside of it, I just added ballast to the front as the only way of getting the engine out was to cut through the rotor shaft due to the spinner bolt being jammed tight. That'll teach me to buy from overseas, DOW! I only wanted a glider anyhow as powered are just cheating really arn't they... Might get me a warbird, I've still got some skills in the flying department and I like the look of some o' these 4ch models... I really want a Electric Zero but Im finding it hard to find a good quality ARTF kit. Or any of the WWI models I love Bi - Tri planes even slo fly editions, Great fun.
  10. Cheers, I think I can pull a tube off an old bike in the garage and see if its stretchy enough... Won't the rubber be a bit too stiff though? I don't know I'll see what I can do.
  11. Anyone know of a uk supplier on t' web from that I could pick up different frequency xtals?? Plus Im looking to make a HI start and cant find rubber tubing localy any Ideas or substitute materials...? I dont want the hassel of a winch and dont have a friend as a tug. Cheers all.
  12. I recently purchased a TW-742 powerd slope soarer from China on E-bay. After building it and charging the battery I plugged it all together and lo and behold I found a few problems... 1) the engine was broken due to the cables connecting the ESC were severed. 2) one of the airlon  control struts was bent incorrectly. 3) the tail sections needed padding out to make them fit securley. After soldering the wires back on to the Esc and tweaking the control strut by brute force I set the servos and surfaces to neutral and tried the motor... STILL nothing out of it not even a sound, so I removed the Motor and tied off the conectors. Now this has made my model 4Oz lighter at the front and moved the CG back about 1+1/2 inch, which is about an inch in front of the middle of the wing. Is this going to be alright, or do I need to bring the CG back forward a bit to make her fly level?? I've not been flying for a number of years and I'm unsure... Any help as its greatly needed, Thanks.
  13. Hi all, my name is Craig and I used to live at Mowbray Rd and occasionally fly at the west slopes of the Orme. I was wondering if any of you Know of some good spots around Llanrwst as my parents are there and i'll be visiting from Scotland soon... Oh and I'll probably be visiting 'Dudno' next week some time with my new TW-742 "not too great to be honest" slope soarer, What frequencies are in use at the moment as I only have 27mhz crystals and would like a heads up if possible. Thanks.
