  1. Well you never know, maybe a chance of winning this great kit
  2. Yes, I feel I should join a club, but I guess its plucking up the confidence to join, and fly in front of all those experienced flyers with serious models. Mine would seem like a toy in comparison.  Are there places to fly solo, or should you always fly with a club?, are there any special licences/insurance you need?
  3. I have been model building for several years and a couple of years back I decided to venture into radio control thinking that it couldn’t be that hard, how wrong I was. I bought an Electra-fun trainer electric aircraft from my local model shop and also a honey bee2 helicopter from eBay. The later turned out to be a big mistake, realising now that it is for advanced flyers only. The Electra-fun has had a limited success, i.e. managing sometimes to get it airborne, but soon realising that things start to happen very quickly after takeoff, needless to say that ALL have been crash landings, usually damaging some item or other, just recently the prop motor decided to fall inside the body and the prop went, well god knows where! After shelving them disheartened by the whole idea, I recently have bought 2 indoor helicopters, one 2 channel syma Titan, and a 9089 3CH double blade. I was surprised by how much success I had with both of these, soon being able to have control of them and hover at will, especially the 9089. In fact apart from the odd clash of blades against obsticles, both of them are still intact. This of course gave me a lot of confidence to rekindle my ambition to learn to fly, I got the Honey Bee from the loft, but soon realised that the last crash left it in a sorry state, meaning investing some money, and realising the drop in price of 4 or 6 ch 'Outdoor' helicopters I wonder if it’s worth repair. I also decided to retry the Electra-fun aircraft after some minor repairs; of course my new found confidence was soon put to rest. I just need advice to get me going, in particular flying aeroplanes. I.e. which is the best starter to buy, finding the best place to fly it (Never been too sure if and where I can fly them). Would it be better to join a club although I feel I need to know if I have the ability before I do so? My ambition is being able to fly a spitfire I’m building (the one that was issued from the magazines a couple of years back) and bringing it home in one piece.
