  1. Trainer?? ashhh i knew there was a step i missed ahh well, it wasn't nappies!!
  2. Ah, summit extra just what i need for the spares i have getting lonely in the shed!!
  3. Eric the 4 AA's where just to test the ignition when i took it out the box,i'd read that the first batch of these auto-advanced units where faulty but mine has the 4.8v sticker on which is the sign its from the later improved batch, Engine Doctor, thanks for the tip on the battery i have been so confused on which to use, I seen a brand new warbird go down due to a battery exploding on its maiden the other day, some say dont use this,or dont use that, it gets confusing so i was going to go for a NICAD seeing as they dont have the problems the NEWER types seem to have,a little extra weight but i'd rather that than exploding battery's, i was just looking at some 4.8v cells on Al's hobbies,a 4CELL 1300 you say, cheers thats good enough for me if your running the 26'S big brother. Steve.
  4. Cheers Eric, i'm new around these parts but i do appreciate how you always seem to be the first to try and help us newbies out, the connector to the battery box wasn't the best, the pin was pushing right out as i plugged in the battery end but after some umming and ahhing i noticed that the pins where not level and pretty deep inside the plug so decided to dig in and look, I figured its only 2 wires i cant do irrepairable damage to the Ei unit even if i break a wire, so i'm thinking maybe it would be a good idea to get some better connectors for this connection,i was looking at gold bullet type connectors but there are a few sizes so i'm not sure if that matters? anyway its a standard size futuba type male/female connection 2pin from the power to the unit and once its mounted its mounted so maybe a permanent connection of some sort?  Any  Suggestions? Steve.
  5. PHEWWW !!  Panic over, the plug was pushing the pin right out the other end of a connector, the tear it open and look technique worked, i suspected the red pin wasn't connecting as it wasn't level with the black pin so i pulled them both out, insulated with a piece of cardboard and made sure the connections where made and spun the crank and to my relief a Bright Blue Spark ! I'm happy again, Cheers!!
  6. Ok, i would rather ask up front and seem like a fool for asking what is probably a stupid question but i have a Futuba battery holder, 4 AA duracell 1.5v battery's attached and i'm getting no spark , do i need every cell to be 4.8v-6v ? The engine is a CrrcPro GF26i.. Thanks in advance for not laughing and pointing at me. Steve. p.s, I meant CDi, where i got ECi i dont know?  but i'm not getting a spark is my assumption that 4 x 1.5v battery's would give me 6v's wrong?
  7. Cheers Danny i'll check it out, I havn't got an engine for it yet all i have is an Irvine53 which is no good so maybe i will, i looked at some of it already its the blog about the parts from HK right? Steve
  8. No, i'm new to this for the 3rd time, this time ive been using all the sims daily for months so hopefully i'll be a little better prepared, i take it weston is a show? hopefully i'll start going to all the flying shows starting next year. or maybe some this year if theres any still to go to.

  10. Thanks for the advise !! i'll go check out the link.
  11. Handy site to know thanks, just had a quick glance but i'll look a bit more thoroughly later. On the sea fury do you think a 26cc would be far too much?
  12. Thanks, will do, i watched your build all the way and i got the decals from pyramid as well, i just cant decide on the colour? i like yours but i seen an original that was more of a blue colour...hmmmmm    decisions decisions, ah OK i'll just use your build as a manual!! Off to look at field stands as i'm tight on space so anything that makes things sit nice will help.
