I have been thinking for some time to purchace a 3 D model ,54 " wngspan shoulder wing 4 to 5 lb in weight . My question is, on low rates will the model be like a normal airobatic ship and should it have a reasonable glide. I have been informed that they normally glide like bricks. this I cant see as wing loading does not seem excessive. Help as usual would be apreciated

I recently purchaced the Spektrum DX 6i . Did the binding ok and all working. However on reading instruction book it states that it does not matter if you turn on the reciever or transmitter first. It does with mine. If reciever is turned on before Tx 9 times out of 10 one or both Rx will continue to flash even though servos all work. If however the system is turned on the way I always have ie Tx first then Rx both Rxs go solid in a couple of seconds. Two questions if Inmay, have I a faulty setup . Secondly what would happen if I flew with one or both Txs flashing Thanks for any advise Garry

Trevor Being 73 yrs young you coments struck a cord. The models we used to fly had an actuator rubber powered which gave you rudder left one pulse rudder right 2 pulses up elevator 3 pulses and slow motor 4 pulses. Can you imagine trying to remember that lot when model was legging it into the distance. I dont ever remember landing a model in those days, they always flew away. Name and address was always inside the model and quite often model would be home before me, having serched the countryside for several hours .Would I like to go back to those days? not flying R/C I can assure you Garry

I returned to model flying 6 months ago after a 25 yr lay off, [ I know I should be locked up for staying away so long], however to start me off I bought 2 foam 4 chanell models , a cessna high wing and a formosa low wing model. 25 yrs ago I was flying 60" airobatic models with O/S 60 up front and was the flying instructor at the club I ran in Newark Notts. After 25 yrs i was a little worried that I may have lost my abillity to fly. imagine me suprise when it felt i had never been away. I have had about 20 flights with each model without any damage to either model, both of which are electric which is the way I want to go. After all this i wonder if anyone out there can help me. with the foam models being so light any sort of a medium strength wind tends to make the flying a little hairy. I am wanting to go back to 56 to 60" low wing models with flaps weighing in at 4 to 5 lb weight which 25 yrs ago was my type of flying. Trouble is I need some help in choice. Can anyone advise with model name and suppliers Thanks

As a long time modeller, I have returned after a long layoff. I decided to go electric and have a query. With an ARF model it appears that no on off switch is provided Should I wish to insert one where would it go in the wiring? Any help would be great.

RC I think I fly my own mode ie rudder and elevator on right hand stick the other two on left han stick. Probably as 30 yrs ago there was no help. however planemaster can be easly changed to any mode you want as has been suggested. I bought one 4 weeks ago and my grandson of 6 yrs can now fly a ARF 4 channel high wing airoplane. Best £19.99 I have spent in a long time

The DX 6i has the same offer . The only problem seems to be that the suppliers are not telling the model shops about it . I had to take in the mag to Grantham shop as he had no knowledge of the offer
