  1. With the death of the DH88, I "NEED" a Fury to fly alongside Dannys
  2. One of those things Danny. Post mortem continues although Video and Eagle tree aren't really helping with that. It was the first flight of the Fury that we video'd over. At least we got the DH88 on tape for Splat and Youve been framed.
  3. Timbo We tend to connect the LCD screen after the flight but before disconnevting the battery. Not sure if thats feasable with yr installation? Saves installing it "properly"
  4. Thanks Timbo, I really thought I had "message me" ticked, I have now! This is a real shame, because we have a caravan and the wife likes Rhyl, but we are already committed this weekend. Also, I've rather overbooked my flying for the whole summer, so I'm desparately trying to claw back some "brownie points" with the whole family (3 teenagers too) at the moment. So unfortunately I won't be there I hope you have some really good weather and I'll see what can be done next year.. Hope you don't hold this against us when it comes to any of our 3 funflys?
  5. That sounds like a successful evening to me. On my charger I dont think I get the "connection fail" when I'm on a balance charge. Not absolutely sure about that yet. Definately does it on a 7A field charge (not balancing) so Danny has lent me a wattmeter to put in circuit for the time being. "parcels law"  applies to you too. I can almost cause a delivery to happen by leaving the house breifly when I'm expecting something. Sounds like the batteries are still useful for training then? 10 minutes training with a rest while you charge (and fly something of your own )
  6. Timbo your wife must be a clone of mine, my sympathies mate!
  7. Timbo I have a rule - I try never to add up the costs of a project any more...
  8. That is a bad day Timbo. If it's any consolation, I too have days like that when I wish I'd never got up. (recently too) It does make the days when everything goes well feel even better! I'm sure its the challenge that keeps some of us interested! Chin up, you know it will all be OK in the end..
  9. OMG it took me so long to do! Over a week of messing about with videos. I've had many video editing problems and a row with the software manuf, which ended with them sending me a new disk. I've had so many goes with the timing of the data finnishing way before the model lands! I'll do a few more so I'm sure about the technique first and then could do a step by step. With a bit of luck I'll get Dannys Fury on its maiden, and even one of my own planes. Remind me about doing a video thread sometime.
  10. Timbo I'm going to contradict myself w a little here. I've finally managed to overlay real time eagle tree playback onto a video. So you can watch Dannys Hurri fly and see the eagle tree numbers as it flies. You can spot a 60A moment and check the volts if you are quick, and probably a 35A moment too. It looks like the Cylindrical A123s in this flight dropped a bit further than my guestimation from my graph. Video graphically proves that they are useful though Chris
  11. Hi Timbo I was a little worried about your cell count. The round can A123 cells also drop in volts under load but I wouldn't expect quite this much. On this 6S graph, picking a 35A point shows a voltage of about 17.5V which gives under 3V per cell, but not much under. Maybe this is why, for 40-50 IC sized models, we tend to use 6S1P with something like a 670kV 600W motor. (which is what this graph is). Chris
  12. Of course we don't know about the "square" cells so we're looking to you to confirm the above. Best of luck and lets hope we get some weather soon.
