  1. Hi Thanks for piccy, already found the switch and selected 'FRANCE' setting. I don't know why this should have a switch though Unless its to reduce output power to 100mW which is the requirement for France. The manual of course doesn't give the output power anyway so this is just a guess. Lee
  2. Bonjour mon amis, Since my intro thread, 'Bonjour de France',  I'm surprised at the number of other modellers who also live here in France. So at Ernies suggestion, I'm hoping to get some feedback from other expats to share thoughts, ideas and experiences and maybe suggestions on modelling suppliers. Maybe even lobby RCM&E for more favourable subscription rates. See my other thread on this 'touchy' subject. Lee
  3. If the French can manage without road tax, lower fuel tax etc, why can't the UK government adopt a similar scheme. I'll tell you why, money! the government wants to screw as much money out of its citizens as it possibly can in order to finance MPs pensions, holidays, personal expenses, Blair force one etc., I'm a political refugee living in France. If the EU is a level playing field, why is it more expensive to live in the UK compared with rest of Europe? Lee
  4. Allan, that address,  [email protected] actually takes you to the Loch Lomond castle website!
  5. Very good! off to bed now methinks, me brain hurts
  6. Hi Myron, the word 'fil' is actually translated as 'wire' nearest thing to 'thread' I could think of . Lee
  7. Forgive my French, only bin ere 5 years!
  8. Bonjour Myron, l'un de nous devrait commencer un fil français peut-être Ernie car c'était sa suggestion. Lee
  9. Hmm! I have a foam Mirage 2000 with 90mm fan, screams like a banshee but will not take off in grass. Fortunately the club has a long tarmac strip, but missus won't let me fly it. till I master the Edge. Incidentally, wheres the video?
  10. A French thread, Hmm! Now theres an idea. I  thought I recognised you, you came in on page one! That shop you mentioned in Salle, not been there yet. missus got suspicious when I suggested we go to Arcachon for the day. You must have got the leftovers of our storm last night. Didn't fly tonight, wind got up a bit. Grateful it wasn't a tornado though like the one that hit Northern France Sunday night.
  11. I'll have a look later, after me barby.........Its stonking hot here too. got go fly this evening to cool planes down a bit. nice little thunder storm last night, brill light show. Where abouts are you Lee
  12. The FFAM send me the mag I assume its because I'm a member. I had to open up my Tx as I dropped it and summat came loose inside, I didn't notice ant special switch as such. Mines the 6ex. Lee
  13. Hi Ernie, 35 should be legal for RC by 2011 according to the FFAM, not that I would use it now. Following my argument with the ground and later a tree, I have now sold all my 35 stuff and like you, using 2.4, no probs. I use Futaba, wheres this switch? The French have had a lot of problems with the Spektrum, do you get the FFAM mag, 'Aero Modeles'? theres a big thing about it in there. Lee
  14. Hi Ian welcome to the forum and to RC flying, you'll be bald in no time
  15. Bonjour Ron que je souhaite que je pourrais comprendre ce que vous essayez de dire. Ça ne fait rien une fois que je contourne la chose française de langue, j'essayera d'apprendre le vôtre.
  16. Now I know why I left UK for France French is easier!!!
  17. Horizontal stabiliser failed structural integrity during waterfall manouver.
  18. OK, in answer to you Daniel, the current exchange rate would have no effect on postage from UK as you are going to the post office and paying GBP irrespective of the state of currency at the destination. The postage to France is £2.16 by airmail, £25.92 per annum The pstage to USA  is        £3.81 by airmail, £45.72 per annum The cost of the magazine being £3.80 GBP irrespecive of where you are in the world, add that to the pstage and even with the discounted subscription rate, it would still be more expensive to post to the US.
  19. Resolved, finally, fitted a 100A ESC.......Overkill I know but hey, it works, and flies well. might just stick on a 13" prop like the type recommended for Extremeflight RC YAK. Prop supplied is 12".
  20. Oh Boy! Pain au raisan is a nice sticky bun...........
  21. For what its worth, I'm not getting notifications. Win XP (Refuse to use Vista) ISP is Teleconnect in France, Outlook 2007. All was OK till maybe sometime last week.
  22. From what I have read so far, CG aside, your main query seems to be the sudden undemanded full up elevator. Incorrect CG wouldn't cause that. I have seen something similar at our club and it turned out to be quite simple. I'm not sure about the Dx6i but it happened with a Futaba 35mHz rig where the pilot had 'FAILSAFE' enabled, on checking the settings he had up elevator set on loss of signal. Guess what, he lost signal and the aircraft suddenly pitched up! Signal was regained quite quickly and was able to land safely, We all then retired to the club house for a drop of 'water' to calm our nerves.... Lee
