  1. Hey Vic, can you get in touch, its Lee down SW France, haven't heard from you since Petes site and my PC gave up gave up.
  2. There is a buddy lead between JR and Futaba here http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN173  depending on the Futaba model, you also might need this http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN174
  3. Well so far here in South West France we haven't had any snow. Kinda miss it really, been a bit cold a couple of nights though and managed to get some flying in. Apart from a boom strike on the heli, had some good flights. Did find though the cold does have an adverse effect on electric models, reducing power and flight times. the club really has to improve on the coffee as well.   Lee
  4. Dunno why everyones complaing, I've just been out with my Fournier RF4D testing FPV stuff, nice gentle breeze, 15 min airborne, then a few aerobatics with the Edge and broke the heli blades, normal sorta day. Going to launch the DG1000 glider this afternoon for a gentle fly around then pop into club house for some heli repairs and maybe sim time. Just a normal day.....        Lee
  5. Problem resolved, I had to fiddle with Reverse and Swash settings to get the right combination, so if any one else comes up with same query, here are the settings that work for me and are dependant on what make the servos are,   Servo reverse. #1 nor #2 rev #3 rev #4 nor #5 nor #6 rev SWASH set to 3-S CH-A  +50% CH-E  -50% CH-P  +50% Lee
  6. Hi VA, Mines the 1200mm version about the same as the Extremeflight model, came from a shop in Austria, I also have a Predator also by model expert. Same aircraft are also badged as Nitro Models and RC System depending on the distributor, Mine came with motor included. Lee
  7. Ailron and pitch are OK, its the elevator servo thats not not playing properly, works OK as elevator but works in opposite direction when pitch applied. I'll just have a look at the other thread, musta missed it.
  8. HELP, I have a Walkera 60 heli that hasn’t flown for over a year now since the second motor failed in flight, anyway, I have decided to resurrect this so have done a couple of mods ie upgraded to brushless and ripped out the supplied useless radio stuff and fitted a Futaba fasst rx . Transmitter is a 6EX.  This is where my problems started, following the recommended settings according to the Futaba instructions, no matter what I do I can’t get the  elevator servo to mix properly with pitch. Ailerons will work independently as does the elevator, but apply pitch the ailerons go up OK but the elevator servo moves down. Reversing the elevator servo is not an option as this then will not work properly as an elevator ie. Reversed!   Has anyone here fitted a Futaba radio to a Walkera 60. I need to get this working as I’ve ordered a TREX 450se and the servo layout I believe is the same.   Have a happy new year Lee  (sunny France) Edited By Lee Bentley on 26/12/2009 10:33:27
  9. Hey VA, I also have the Model Expert  YAK 54, this happens to be one of my favourite planes to fly. Only problem I had, it did not like 'Ryanair landings' strenghened UC mount, fitted a 950kv motor and moved recommended CG back a tad and it flys almost hands off. 10. Worst ever, the Walkera UFO 5. Supposed to be gyro stabilised  in flight. NOT! contrary to all the hype, you have to control it all the way, take hands off the sticks and it will roll out of control. Best model is my Predator RQ1, slightly under powered with recommended motor but glides really well, stays up for ages without power.
  11. Hi Folks, I got a 60 last year and have been very under impressed with it. first day out the motor cooked, did a Ryan air landing on auto rotate but no damage. Walkera sent out a new motor, this time, tethered flight, motor cooked. So have now converted to brushless.  After a couple of months of use machine became unstable after checking for loose screws etc I found the main frame was cracking so have now replaced with a more substantial modified frame. Now the tranny melted while charging batteries. Now given up for a while. I have now just bought another Walkera thingy called  UFO 5. having seen some demos on Youtube. First flight, it banked viciously to the left and fell out of sky, I managed to level just before ground hit it. Second flight, during very unstable hover, contrary to all the stability claims, it again banked and hit ground in that attitude, breaking the unbreakable blades.  I have now decided not to puchase anthing else with the name Walkera, who incidentally don't reply to emails. Staying with planks, maybe take Moskito out for an airing now and again.
