Fizza - Nigel Hawes - battery retention
Mike Cotterill replied to Mike Cotterill's topic in General Electric Flight Chat
Hi All Thanks for your replies - some very nice colour schemes used - 'fraid I went with the default red/white and blue of Nigel's original. From what I can determine the battery location is underneath the wing and secured to it using velcro. Hope now I can get this finished and airborne..... Cheers all MC -

Hi Andy Could you please advise what the velcro is attached to inside the fuelage as the front section at the top is rounded. Did you install a plate to fasten the battery to ? Are you able to grab a pic of fuselage at all ? I've been building this plane on and off for years and I'm not real close to completing it. Thanks for your quick response Mike -
Hi I purchased a Cemech Funky 2 years ago but am only now ready to build it.However the instrcutions (or lack of them) do not give much help. Has anyone else assembled one of these EPP large shockies ? What glue would be best - (UHU PRO ?) Does it need any extra re-inforcement any where ?Any other hints and tips ? TIA MC

Hi, My TigerShark EDF unit, when run from a 3S1P 1500mA Li Po, goes into slow speed when the battery voltage drops to 11.6V. I think it may be set to 4S and shutting down at 4 x 2.9 volts = 11.6. Any idea on the setup modes for the controller that was sold with this jet ?:- http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=811 Unfortunately I can't identify the ESC now the model has been assembled - the model is approx 3 - 4 years old. Thanks MC

Seagull edge 540 - 120
Mike Cotterill replied to Mike Cotterill's topic in Sport, Aerobatic and 3D kits
The cowl rests on the front edge of the extended firewall where the engine mount is bolted - while not quite being low enough for the spinner to be in the centre of the front of the cowl. -
Hi I'm trying to fit the cowl neatly on the Seagull edge 540 - 120 size kit. But to get the spinner back plate in the middle of the cowl means that the cowl is resting on the top of the firewall mount. Would it be OK to sand the corners to allow the cowl to drop down slighttly ? or Should I just accept that the spinner will have to reside offset downwardsby 1/4" (this also allows the panel lines from the cowl / fuselage to align more accurately) Anyone else built one of these ?

WOT 4 ARTF - climbs like an angel
Mike Cotterill replied to Mike Cotterill's topic in Sport, Aerobatic and 3D kits
The engine is an Irvine 53 and the prop is an APC 11 x 6. I will check out the inverted flight and see what she does. MC -
WOT 4 ARTF - climbs like an angel
Mike Cotterill replied to Mike Cotterill's topic in Sport, Aerobatic and 3D kits
Hi Yes it climbs worse with higher throttle settings. i have added a spacer to the top two engine mounts for more down thrust but it did not make much difference. If yours does similiar is it a charactistic of the aero foil section ? MC -
Hi Have built (?) and flown the ARTF WOT 4 but I find it climbs quite badly when trying to fly level into wind. Down wind isn't too bad so it is not a trimming problem. Anyone else experienced anything similiar please ? TIA MC

Hi Could someone pelase advise the best way to cover the wings/wing tips on an Acro Wot kit. My covering material is Profilm and I'm not sure if I should cover the bottom then top of the wing then cover then wing tips or should I try and stretch the covering so the tips are done at the same time as the top or bottom. Anyone else done this already please ? TIA MC

Do you have any recommendations for a 60 2stroke e.g. SC / OS etc ? Are SC reliable ?
