Hi AllI can't be the only person to lament the dreadful piano wire u/c legs supplied on the majority of trainers. When learning, one is going to make some pretty rough landings so why have legs that:a)bend out of shape really easilyb)are a pain to bend back into shapec)are very much weaker and more prone to bending after a) and b) have occurred?I see that the WOT trainer has 'springy' looking legs. Are they better than the wire? Can anyone suggest a better set of legs for my Boomerang? Thanks in advance.

The Parkzone P51 is really good indoors. Will fly quite slowly if required to and looks the biz; especially if you take off the undercarriage.
-
Looking good. You really get on with it!How many hours work do the photo's represent?

I haven't used Al's Hobbies for mail order so I can't comment on that, but I always take a hard look at their stand at shows; most recently at Rougham.Always some GREAT offers and Ali Snr is a real gentleman and very knowledgeable.

Went yesterday - brilliant displays in just about perfect weather.Today's a real bummer for all.

JamesI'll check the CoG and try again.p.s. anyone tried to make a 4 blade prop for it?

Agree with Phil B and BB;Deans=pain

I painted mine in RAF camouflage and shark teeth (112 Squadron), just to have something different.Looks pretty , flies like a dogNeed to lose weight from the back to compensate for the paint methinks.

The only thing I dislike about my Boomer is the weedy undercarriage. Not confidence making for a learner! The u/c on the WOT types get good reviews; has anyone of those work on a Boomer ?

Hi AllSeems to be on sale in Ireland only. Certainly not advertised in Suffolk.

LeeWhere do you get the acetate sheet, and what grade/thickness do you use?

Great soundtrack - the Merlins were the best though!

Got mine this morning.

SimonThank you for a fascinating and inspirational build log.I'm planning to build Mr Carr's 'Biff' from the February RCM&E but I'd really like to add ailerons; I'll have a go at your method and see how I get on.Will you be using the same system on the depron 'plane? If you are, some details will be fabbo.

Hi BarrieI'm going to build one in the near future. I saw on a 'how to' site that 0.25mm is a good size to use. I've just received the wire today and I wouldn't like to go any thinner.
-
BarrieThat's only 0.1mm. If you need something thicker try here:http://wires.co.uk/

Me too.
Any good tips for getting blood marks off depron? -
Hi Simon and Ken
Thanks for the replies.
The decals are supposed to be self adhesive so I hadn't thought of adding extra glue to them. Good thinking!
I'll try a few experiments with different glues and see what happens. -
Hello All
I hope this is the right forum for this topic.
I bought some vinyl markings for an indoor 'fun-flyer' that I've made using EPP.
I spray painted the model with Tamya acrylic paint and the with acrylic satin varnish. The markings just don't stick down. I over-sprayed them with varnish but they just lifted off .
Anyone had success with decals/stickers on EPP?
I could try spraying the markings but masking is a pain for the same reason: it just doesn't stick very well.
Any thoughts gratefully recieved.

Hello Matt
Can you pm me the details please?
Thanks -
Hi Eric
I got mine from Robotbirds but I notice that they weren't listing them at the moment. Probably means they are waiting for stock. Worth a 'phone call. -
Why do you need three?

Hi AllSorry for not responding sooner. Been away then service provider (orange) was down for a couple of days.
Thanks for the info, I've plenty to stare at now. Should be doable as a 'profile' foamie, I'll keep you posted.
I'm working on a 30" span profile depron Eurofighter at the mo. Powered by a 68mm EDF and trying to engineer in a bit of 'vectored thrust'.
