  1. Hello Crispin many thanks for your promt reply my only thoughts for the ASP70 4stroke are the print out from Criss foss webb site states engine sizes can be for.45 to .60 2 stroke or (60 to 90 4stroke) . I have to say the model as not been flown be me with the SC 46 2 stroke that came fitted. I do have a spare Irvine 53 2stroke that could be another option ? Again many thanks. Regards Vernon

  4.      I already have a Futaba 2.4 GHz system, plus a 35 MHz  Futaba 8 ups    transmitter which I am considering changing to 2.4 using  TWO WAY    2.4 GHz Rx  and  Futaba module Corona (FHSS) from giantcod.co.uk    Has anyone any experience using this system?       Vernon Hadley            Edited By Vernon Hadley on 30/05/2011 16:23:26
  5. May I first of all say thank you to the Egine Doctor, Andy Green and Ian Skeldon and last but not least Steve Hargreaves all of whom gave me the correct advice to the problem. The problem I had was I purchased a second hand engine that initially would not start and would not accept full throttle. The remedy to the problem was incorrectly set tappets, my error, and bottom needle 3/4 of a turn too lean. Hoping this may be of assistance to anyone with a similar problem. Happy and relieved Vernon
  6. Many thanks to ANDY and STEVE for your prompt replies i will look into your suggestions , Can you adivse on the valve clearances   Regards Vernon
  7. Having purchased an ASP 70 4 stroke at a local swop meet , when using it for the first time the said engine will not accept full throttle. I already have an OS 70S 4 stroke plus OS52 4 stroke along with an SC52 4 stroke all of which I have been using for some time and have not come across this situation before. There was not a manual with the ASP, the engine starts easily however it requires three full turns of fuel and throttle response from tick over to 3/4 throttle is very good. However, as already stated once the last quarter of stick is applied the engine just dies. Opening up the needle a further quarter to half turn makes no difference. The prop in use is a gliders g sonic 13-8. Can anyone offer advice on this problem. Regards Vernon

  9. Good morning Can someone help, having stripped the above motor to replace a bearing I have obviously lost the timing position of crankshaft to idle gear.  It also seems the engine prior to this strip down was emiting vibration.  I can add that the crankshaft has been checked on a small engineering lathe and seems perfectly ok.   Safe flying to all   Vernon Hadley
  10.  Many thanks for replys Timbo and David ,advice from Jim Mere at ripmax is still to protect  reciver with sponge or foam
  11. Having used 35 mhz receivers and always protected them by wrapping in sponge or foam I am somewhat surprised that on the Futaba website their info states that FASST receivers should not be wrapped in foam.  Would greatly appreciate any members views on this subject, or how do they install this type of receiver in air frames?
