  1. This has gotten very technical.  I too will be running Spekky, but on a 4.8v AAA 800mAh pack. Call me what you like, but its worked for me in another sloper for nearly 2 years now, and I've never had a brownout, mainly because my rucksack has a gel cell in the bottom so I can field charge if needed.  As long as you keep on top of your batteries, 4.8v in a Spectrum/ foamie sloper setup shouldnt really present a problem??? Dont get me wrong, my power models with Spekky Rxs all run either 5 cell packs, or Lithiums and regs.   Where do i stick this 2p?   Shaun
  2. Im not entirely sure how much is in there, i just carved out a square chunk of foam immediately behind the hatch on the underside. Id say it is around 1" wide by 1.5" long by maybe 3/8" - 1/2" deep. Its enough to get me out there in those big winds   Shaun
  3. Crisis averted, the linkages arrived so I put them on, and all seems fine. I think my eyes were playing tricks on me   Shaun
  4. I dont know what all this mushy talk is about, mine flies fine, but my CG is a tiny bit forward of Alans qouted balance point. Oh, and mine always has a decent chunk of lead in its belly. Fetch them all to Copelands fly in and Ill show you all the way....
  5. Just been having a look through my models, and have realised how much I have to do before the fly-in. Ive got four models wanting finished, one in need of a quick repair, and thats just me gliders. Ive got the same again to sort out for the power fly-in     Shaun, who is going to be busy...
  6. Piccys as promised             Shaun
  7. What servos are people intending to use??? I have HS 81s, HS 55s, and some 65HBs somewhere.   Shaun
  8. Its here, very impressed.  Will post piccys after 7
  9. Well its not the stuff from Stan, Wifey had took delivery of that this morning, so its looking more and more like my Weasel is stuck in the sorting office. Poor thing could have  been built by now.
  10. I wonder if anyone could help me? Im just in the process of 'building' this model, and have put the Elevator and Rudder servos in the rear of the fus, but the cutouts in the fus sides just seem to be in the wrong place, so its looking like the linkage geometry is going to be all wrong.  It looks like the linkages will foul the tailplane at full travel as well.  Im waiting on some Pete Tindal linkages atm so I wont know how its going to look until they arrive.  Is there anyone out there who owns, or has owned this model, who experienced this same problem. If so, do you have any pointers or photos of your install???    Any help would be appreciated,   Shaun
  11. I think mines at the sorting office, Ive just got in off 12hr shift and theres a RM Red Slip thru the door. Will find out in the AM, it could just be some stuff I ordered from Stan Yeo
  12. Just received an email about my order that goes something like this: "Your Dream-Flight order was shipped on April 28 via USPS Airmail. Delivery time ranges from 4-9 days, although delays ................."  yadda yadda etc   Not long now...   Shaun
  13. Been a while since I've dabbled in leccy gliders, but I dont think what youre experiencing is anything to be concerned about. Programming your ESC 'Brake' function will stop this from happening. Maybe the more learned types could comment.     Shaun
  14. If you want something Zagi-esque, but dont want to shell out the 55min quid for an SAS WT, Fusion, or Venom, why not try the Venom-Lite from Alan at SAS? Its similar to the Zagi in that there is no 'Pod' to protect the servos and pushrods, but uses a better section and is all EPP, as opposed to the Perkins Zagis EPP LE over EPS. Trust me, that EPS foam doesnt last long on a model like this. Best of all, the Venom lite is around 40 quid. Plus all the hardware from SAS is better quality, as are the tapes provided.   Ive owned them all, Perkins SI's, Irvine X-Its, all of SAS's models, and I know where I'd be taking my money.  I still have my SAS models after years of abuse, which is testament to their quality.   Shaun
  15. Thats the whole contents laid bare, will start building soon, I'm on 12hr nightshifts all week, so there wont be much getting done. Ill probably build both this and the evo weasel at the same time. Should take about a day to do....
  16. Heres a pic of the charges note on the box, and one of the contents.  Can you guess what it is yet?       Shaun
  17. Just got a Royal mail missed parcel slip through the door, asking for me to go to the sorting office and pay £12.59 Customs charge.  Weasel or Wasp????
  18. Ive just watched that new video again on youtube, proper impressed....
  19. Mine needed a few 30 x 30 lead chunks in the nose before it flew 'right',  I think the CG ended up in front of Alans recommended balance point. My dads 60" was the same, flew like crap til i persuaded him to cram some lead in there.  On the subject of Weasels, mine should probably be in the post by now, lets see if it beats the wasp from Australia, that I ordered weeks ago        Shaun
  20. Yeah, anyone is welcome, we meet on Lakes College (CA14 4JN) car park at 10am, decide which slopes will be best then head out from there around 10.45 - 11am.   Shaun
  21. Yeah thats Skidders, its been a long time since I've been up there. I tend to take all that for granted because its on my doorstep.
  22. Forgot to mention that we'll need people to bring along proof of insurance, and please get in touch before travelling, or at the least, to check XCWeather the day before to make sure its going to be worth the journey.  Our website is gradually geting updated, but Im pretty busy with work, and building(models and houses), and flying, so it's taking time to get sorted.   Shaun, who is off to fly 3d foamies till dark
  23. Very innovative, like the switch cover thingy. I can see mine going everywhere with me, seeing as it packs up so small, she'll not even notice it as i stash it in the first aid compartment of the car.   Shaun
  24. Still no model   , wondering if its lost in transit.  Will have to get in touch with Glen and find out whats going on.   Shaun
  25. Extend new workshop??? Ive just took delivery of an 18x8 workshop.....
