I've flown this plane a lot in the last two seasons: And worked out that I'd put about 25 gallons through the Zenoah 23cc that was on the front. On inspection it was noted that every panel showed signs of fracturing. I couldn't trust myself to try and put it back together. Going to miss it

Looks like you have a lot of friendly and helpful mates up there in the north!
In any case it is a very good looking model. Congratulations.
Also Basildons creation of authentic photos looks good (fotoshop?)
    Cheers VA

No mate 'Photoscape'. It is basic, but competent. There are six layers to the black & whites, including paging & some shading. A 'Clone' feature was used to remove the TX & blue flightline rope in the background. I tried to replicate a photo taken on a box camera, which may have then been reproduced in a 'Newspaper'. Thanks for the appreciation.

  4. Thanks . After flying for the last three years with much enjoyment. 6 weeks ago I collaspsed at work and was taken to hospital. A Kidney stone was diagnosed. A week later I went to bed, in the morning I woke, and was blind.

Some sight returned during the next couple of days. Appointments to Doctors & Opticians followed. I was finally diagnosed with 'sudden onset Diabetes type 2'. Anyone who knows Diabetes knows the 'numbers game', i.e. between 4 - 7. Mine was plus 45.

Now on x4 mets/p/day numbers are down to 14 - 20. and a loss of weight to the tune of 4.5 stone in 5 weeks.

I took up photography during the last couple of years. Mainly because of this great hobby. Because of my recent health foibles, I thought I'd post some newly taken photos. I have just started flying again. So am a very happy bunny.

Please excuse what may be an indulgence on my part. One never knows what is round the corner etc....

This is Not a sob story.

And I will post more pics.

  6. I think conjecture is just that, at this stage. But, generally at Reno the flight line left to Right is aprx 1/4 mile + forward of grandstand.

Indications are that the pilot pulled out of the race before the last eliptical turn, which would have placed him at a safe abort distance. Complications at 200 (apx) mph seem to have thwarted a safe abort.

Aircraft of any age restored or otherwise can and do suffer failure. As for the Pilot, Reno race committee is not known for a lax attitude, relying on reputation. Pilot Jimmy Leeward, would have undergone as much testing as possible before being allowed to fly.

    Lets wait and see.
