About Me

  1. My Lidl 'Hunter', my first attempt at a swept wing RC conversion of one of these cheap foamies, had a new test flight, but with a 3s instead of a 2s. It flew pretty well before, but now it's quite spicy! Build blog is on my channel and linked at the end.
  2. A hairy final test for my no.14 Lidl foamie build which I was hoping might be my first RC plane FPV craft. I've flown drones FPV but they have RTH, return to home, so if you lose the plot you don't lose the aircraft! Is this plan a goer? Test flight and my conclusions are here.
  3. OK folks, I'm now well on the way with my no.14 Lidl RC glider conversion. Been through singles, twins, biplanes, edf's, etc. you name it, I've done it, let alone also 5 mini Lidl's! (Build blogs on my channel.) Different idea for this one and it's an almost 'pure' Lidl. They are such great cheap gliders to experiment with! Update and mini-build blog so far.
  4. It was a bit breezy for a lightweight, but my conversion of a cheap Lidl foamie glider to an RC 'Hunter' finally got a maiden. 😄 It survived, though I came close to losing it at one point when I couldn't stop it climbing and the strong wind was taking it further and further away. 😳 Plus I made a really dumb mistake after breaking the prop 1st throw. First time I'd made that silly mistake in 10+ years of RC plane messing about. 😂 It'll fly even better next time after a few improvents!
  5. If you're looking for a really easy build that's fun to fly, try this! My 'Lidl' Vulcan. It's pretty much crash proof too, survived a nose dive into the deck unscathed! This is the latest flight test with upgraded motor and prop and it was brilliant. One Lidl rc foamie glider, (fusi only, keep the wing for another project) one sheet of foamboard, 2 servos, BR2205, 6040 prop, 2 servos and rx (and a glue gun) Plans and build blogs all linked in the video description.
  6. Here's a quick look back at some of my last 14 Lidl and mini Lidl cheap foamie RC builds, plus a heads-up regarding my latest idea. (Hint. Swept wing.) Coming soon 😊. Watch this space!
  7. My Lidl Stumpy RC conversion had yet another redesign after a few too many fails. Here's the story and why it has gone to the great RC plane graveyard in the sky.
