David Davis
Years ago I bought an unflown, fully built Precedent T 240 from a chap who had Parkinson's Disease. Terrible shame. It is covered in silk or nylon and sprayed in a white paint. I fitted a Thunder Tiger 91 FS in the nose with the exhaust blowing directly down the centre of the underside of the fuselage. I gave the fuselage a couple of coats of polyeurethane varnish which I had always used successfully in the past as fuel proofer. This time however, probably because I used 15% nitro in the fuel, the varnish has pickled and looks awful. The varnish on the tailplane has also started to lift. Short of recovering the entire model, what would you recommend?

Jimbo565
David, Eric is correct, you must remove the old varnish somehow and then spray the model with a good fuel proofer eg Tufcote, or if you have access to a car body repairer clear two pack laquer will do the job.
