Mike Rollason
Hi,I recently purchased a Replikit model of a Luscombe Sedan(36").This model was originally rubber powered but looks ideal for conversion to electric. If anybody has done this I would be grateful for any information in the building and converting of the kit.CheersMike
Mark Lubbock
Your model is about the size that would fly well on a .5cc diesel up to a .049 glow, so I would suggest a small outrunner & 1000mah 2s lipo would be a good bet. Try a 2408-21 Bell motor/15A controller or one of the cheap combos from BRC hobbies (about £15)Your model will only need about 50W to fly well & these motors can put out over double that-just chose a prop to give you about 7-8 amps static ( 7A x 7volts + 49W & you can always throtte down if this proves to be too much)probably 7 or 8x4 for starters (the GWS slowfli props are good) At this current draw, you don't need anymore that a 10c rated pack & will spend most of the time throttled well back, giving very long flights.Incidentally, I also have a Replikit Luscombe, but this time it's the 40" Silvaire from the KK Super Scale engine powered series & I intend to go the above route with this one.Hope this helps.
