Lima Hotel Foxtrot
Hello All, The LiPo in question is a Loong-Max Tipple 3s 1300mAH. It's brand new (sort of, I bought it at the end of February, but due to various life stuff getting in the way, have only used it for the first time today. I charged it at 1C, used it until power began to fade and put it on for another charge. At this point my Typhoon L50D Pro begins to tell me that the "Balancer Voltage too Low." The manual says: "Battery cells are short-circuited during balancing. The Pack may be faulty." Great . Does this mean I have a lemon to dispose of? I bought two of these at the same time and the other one has been fine. Suggestions welcomed, thanks!
Chris Bott - Moderator
LHF have you measured the individual voltages of each cell?
Lima Hotel Foxtrot
Certainly have, Mr. Bott. I meant to post originally, but was called to the phone. Voltages:2.742.612.
David Gilder
Might be a daft thought but is it possible to try to run a balancing programme on it first to see if cells will balance out, if they do then try a charge again!
Andy Harris
I'd say do 10 mins of gentle charge, then balance. -- You really did run those cells flat!! Set your ESC so you don't do that again! Lima Hotel Foxtrot
Well, that's weird. I just plugged the battery into the charger to give it a go again and it's charging and balancing fine. Also, the initial voltage in the cells came up as just under 3.5v. Honestly, if you can't fix it with gaffa tape, it's too complicated. Chris Bott - Moderator
Good news, sounds like a misdiagnosis by the charger first time around. Possible a plug not quite fully home or something. Glad it's OK though
