Phil May
I'm in the process of fitting the radio into my recently acquired Filton Rouge Bipe and was wondering if I should connect the aileron servos with a Y lead, as I have done in the past with my other models, or connect them to separate channels? Will I benefit with the separate channels on a small model like this ( 31 " span ) Thanks Guys B.P
andy watson
I always use Y leads- they have never let me down. Some of the old guys tend to look and sniff, but never really come up with a good reason not to.
Richard Wood
Same here - but buy good quality ones. Some cheap ones have poorly fitting connectors. This applies to extension leads too. With most computer radios you can set up 'flaperons' if you have seperate servos for each control surface - flaps & ailerons sharing control surfaces. This connection also lets you set travel etc independently for each servo. Can't go wrong with a nice simple y-lead though if you just want ailerons. . Steve Houghton 1
Phil. As I usually use Spektrum AR500 Rx's that have two aileron ports I just plug each aileron servo into it's own port, why use a Y lead if you have this facility on your Futaba RX? Phil May
Thanks guys. The main reason I have used Y leads in the past is purely to only have to connect one lead when fitting the wings on my models, as the Rouge will not have the wings removed I will connect to the two separate channels.
