Chris Channon
Hi all, we have had for a couple of years a really good field to fly from, our landlady charged us no rent and it was a great field. Then came the "Travellers" totally ruined the field, broke the gates, left the field in utter mess, so much so that our land Lady ( one of the nicest people i have had the pleasure to meet) has stopped all access to the field. So we need a new flying site, we are located in Fareham Hampshire, formerly known as Funtley Flyers, does anyone know of a site neat to the Fareham / Wickham area we could join or become amalgomated to? Our club is registered with the BMFA southern area who are looking , with us, for a new site. Thank you for looking Regards Chris.

Mowerman
I can only wish you luck. Our club lost our flying site at the begining of the year. We advertised in local press and put cards in shops with limited response and no suitable sites. Finaly a club member saw a likely looking field and asked who owned it. Luckily the man he asked was the owner and he was able to make a deal. Bear in mind this took about eight months so keep at it.

Not strictly true Mowerman...We had a very good response from the local press, unfortunately many offers were too far away..if only we had been based in Selby instead of Halifax LOL!!!....Chris finding a field is one thing, finding who owns it is another. The best advice we were given came from Alec Barber from the Huddersfield club who suggested if we found a field to look for a man on a tractor because farmers being farmers he'd know who owned all the surrounding fields. This worked for us although as Mowerman said it took us 8 months, also look at local siliage prices per acre and pitch your rental offer above this...farmers are canny people!! Best of luck Andrew
