ady Posted October 3, 2011 Share Posted October 3, 2011 hello one and all , i have a seagull edge 540 , 58" span , all up weight with the sc91fs is around 2500g appros according to web , not weighed it myself , i wanna go electric and using old heli parts i`ve come up with a scorpion 4025-630 , 6s 3300 , 14/7 apc e prop , 1800watts at 70 amps full throttle , should this be enough to give unlimited vertical , cheers ady Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Richard Wood Posted October 4, 2011 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Hi Ady, 1800W will give a 5.5lb (2.5kg) model over 320W/lb which is excessive and may be too much for the airframe to handle safely. You shouldn't really need any more than 200W/lb. A smaller diameter prop will reduce the power,but you may have to go down quite a bit in size to get the power down sufficiently.
