Terence Lynock Posted January 8, 2008 Share Posted January 8, 2008 A while back we were discussing cheap swervos and noticed the following on the www.hobbycity.com site, WARNINGThese servos can be found on eBay and other asian sellers at close to this price, however be warned, they do not contain Taiwan/Japan components. HexTronik (the manufacturers of these servos) have two standards, one is for local sale, and the other is export quality with imported connectors and resin gears from Taiwan and Japan.Our HXT500 and HXT900 are export only, and not built for the domestic market.If as I suspect this is correct having chewed the gears out of a couple of ex-eBay purchases it explains why, hobbycity also do replacement gear sets for these 9g servos for just 50p a set plus about £1.50 p&p for 100g weight so you can order a few for no extra p&p charge.These are the blue cased 9g servo you usually see on eBay at anything up to £5 a time with p&p for Hong Kong or China, less than two quid plus you can ship up to five for £1.50 from hobbycity .............. best regards, Terry Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Terence Lynock Posted January 8, 2008 Author Share Posted January 8, 2008 I have just ordered ten from hobbycity for future projects and four sets of gears to keep in the box, I will need one of them straight away as the 9g servo I bought off eBay for the ailerons on a 24'' span bipe went to the dentists after spilt CA glue got on one of the torque rods.Hopefully I can rescue it with a set of gears for 50p which isnt bad considering, I have plenty of housebricks that could arm wrestle a Gorilla but not enough space to fit one so I am having to wait until the new stuff gets here, regards, Terry Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
