Ian Bird
I would be grateful if anyone recognises this problem. I have a new JP-EnErG pro brushless ESC. Having followed the instruction booklet the motor speed increases as the throttle lever on the Tx is pushed forward. Once it gets to just past the halfway position, the motor speed no longer continues to increase. Have I set it up incorrectly or is this normal? thanks for a reply, Ian
Codename-John
Usually you have to connect the battery with the throttle fully open (remove your prop first incase of any mishap ) then fully close the throttle, this lets the esc learn the extent of travel of your throttle and adjusts its output accordingly
Ian Bird
Thankyou to Codename-John for your reply. I took the esc back to the shop(moor models) croxley where 'craig' was very helpful and reprogrammed the esc to let it know that my battery is similar to nicad and not lipo. Now running fine with full throttle.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
What battery are you using Ian? ESCs usually have an LVC or low voltage cutout to prevent the flight battery discharging too far. In the case of a LiPo discharging it too much can kill the battery. You should make sure that the ESC recognises your battery for what it is to ensure that the LVC operates correctly...

Ben B
That suggests the esc timing needs changing.
