John Farley
Hi I am trying to source a timer to turn the electric motor off in a converted rubber powered free flight aircraft. I have heard you can get them that give X seconds at full power then Y secs at cruise power then cut-off. I have done several searches but no joy.Any info would be much appreciated JF
Big Bandit
John,I think you may be looking for a flight profiler. Cant remember the name of the thing but try Flighthook or Sams. Normal cost around £24-00. Alternatively if you know someone or you are your self into electronics try knocking one up on vero board using a 555 timer in monostable mode, better still try building in a speed controller with two 555's with the other one in astable mode. I've been using the speed controller bit to control a mini sanding disk based on a speed 600 for a couple of years now and it's rock solid.Cheers,Chris. Alan Gorham_
The name of the thing is the Zombie flight profiler. The manufacturer's website is www.atomicworkshop.co.uk.
