Ben Holt
Hi all,I'm just putting together a Funtana X 100 with a OS.91FX I'm hoping for some of your views on what size prop I should go for. by all accounts this aircraft doesn't like to go too fast, I've been advised to go for a 15 X 8, is this too much pitch and not enough diameter? This will be the first power plane I've flown for 16 years! I've been flying slope for about 20 and now I've got the bug for a 3D machine! Hope I dont crash it (too soon!)
David Ashby - Moderator
BenWe should have Andy Ellison's review of the model in the May issue. He used an APC 16x4 and an Evolution 1.00 two stroke. Good luck with yoursDavid.
YakMad
Ben, I fly mine with a Saito 125 and a APC 16x4 wide blade prop which keeps the speed down but still provides plenty of power to get out of problems, it will happily fly around at quarter throttle as the wing area is so large in fact you can end up flying too slow and on the edge of the stall and not even know it until the nose drops. By the way the plane flys on rails but the carbon undercarrige will not stand up to rough fields or hard landings.
Slopetrashuk
15x8 would be a pointless waste of a good 3d aeroplane. Go shallow on the pitch with a 16x4 wide blade APC. Just engines will hook you up AND will have them in stock...The 0.91 will fly it fine but if you want proper 3D go bigger.....
