Fingerless
Got an FMS P40 Warhawk Ws. 1400mm from net for 80 pounds was a sale i had asked for Thunderbolt, they sent the wrong one hence the discount, anyway the retracts on these plane look nice, but wont last long at our field, runway is not that good, so looking for some advice on how to make them more robust, left alone i am sure they will break on landing. Tony Read 2
Don't know about the P40, but the ones on the P51 are quite robust. The main thing is to check that the hardwood bearers are well glued into the foam. I replaced my bearers with U shaped ply plates which got glued around all three sides. No probs so far. If in doubt have a gander on the RC G threads as there is sure to be a lot of info ( and waffle) on there.
