Terry Walters
Posted by Sandy Colquhoun on 08/03/2013 20:50:27: . Not all our members at Croisette use mode 1, I think the early sets came in on that mode and just got left like that. Like 90% of fliers I prefer mode 2, Sorry Sandy - even in the UK the recent RCME survey showed that 25% of flyers there were on Mode1. Here in France it is more like 90% on Mode 1. No logic to it - no right way no wrong way it is a product of the development in each region. Terry
Chuck Plains
Hi Richard. Coincidentally, I have come in from racing 1/10th offroaders on and off for 30 years. I haven't learned to fly properly yet, but purchased a Max Thrust Riot, which proved easy to fly at the nearby club a few weeks ago. Another member took her up and landed as well. But I flew a few circuits, and she felt just like the trainer I had flown on my cheap EaskFly3 simulator. As for scratch building, I have already build stuff, partly as I just like to make things anyway. But I browse Youtube quite a lot, and that convinced me of the relative simplicity of scratch building from foam board. I suggest you check out ExperimantalAirlines , then think about yourself either some art board or carton mousse as i've just discovered non paper covered type is called in France. Depron is also made in Europe, so is pretty cheap, and can be used in a similar way. The way I look at it is, if I can make something over a couple of evenings that costs just a few quid. I won't be stressed about crashing, and will relax more while training. Hey, you should have titled thia thread Neubie in France. Heehee!
