Scruffmeister
I'd like advice on the various Spitfire kits (and plans, but prefer pre-cut parts) out there. Size is not an issue, I'd like to hear about anything you recommend up to and including the top-end (Mick Reeves?). Have built a couple of kits and not being in a rush, ideally I'd like to build one .46 size spit (as have a spare engine) to gain more building and flying experience, building up to creating a much bigger "all singing, all dancing" model with 1.20+/30cc+ engine with fully working flaps, retracts, lights etc. Not really looking for ARTF, so what's good in kit/plan world? Concorde Speedbird
Have you seen the Tony Nijhuis 62" span Spitfire? You can get a woodpack for it, here is an excellent build log. CS
Reno Racer
Not sure from your profile/photo album what your experience level is. If you're competent, then i would go for thr bigger model, it will certainly fly better. Like CS mentioned, TN does a 62" and a 72", the 72" would better suit your 120 sized desire. In the sie range, i would also recommend, the Top Flite kit, the Mick Reeves 1/6 scale and the DB Sport and Scale version. The Mick reeves one does look good and DB has a great reputation for great kits. If you want more of a build than CNC jigsaw set, the I can recommend the Brian Taylor spitfire. I've built his 68" BF109E and its a lovely scale aircraft (available through Traplet). Chris
Djay
Tony Nijhuis kits. They build extremely well and fly superb. The Top Flite kit construction methods leave a lot to desire compared to modern kits and can end up very heavy. Darryl
