Tim Mackey
I cannot recommend a brushed can style motor in any circumstances these days. Frankly the price of brushless motors and ESCs is now so low, with efficiency levels as low as 50% or worse, there is just no validation at all for brushed stuff. You could still use your nicads with a brushless setup, its only a matter of matching the overall voltage, but of course they are tons heavier volt for volt
Patrick Checkley
Thanks again for your reply Timbo.I do see your point about efficiancy and weight , i use lipo's and brushless on my Multiplex Minimag with 20 mins. flight duration but mearly wanted to recycle the old to spend my cash on other modling items i.e. another 2.4 ghz receiver. However i will take your advise and go brushless with the motor first and see what flight times i get with the ni-cad weight, But first of all i have to build the aircraft. Many thanks Pat.
