Bruce Austin
Hi Guys I'm just wondering if anybody has experience of the HK Wicked Wing XL? (1.500mm wing span) With or without the Power conversion. I'm thinking of from a floaty perspective, as opposed to sound barrier type flying. Bandit
They are not fast but not overly floaty from what I have seen. I have the normal one as the big one might be the straw that breaks the camel's back as far as space is concerned in my model room. Great thing is they are so tough. From memory the XL my buddy built flew in about 10 mph at Butser
Bruce Austin
Thank you Bandit for responding. Are you flying your normal one with or without a motor? Was your buddy flying the XL with or without a motor? Go With the Flow Bruce
..
Hi Bruce, I have an XL and my flying buddy has the smaller one, both without motors and flown off the slope. The best we have had out of them was a few Sundays ago when we pitched up early due to the wind being forecast to drop off through the day. When we started it was blowing a pretty constant 20/25mph and both wings were going very well , We thought the XL was probably doing better in the stronger conditions. As the wind dropped off the smaller wing did a little better but neither did very well in the 10/12 mph breeze. Cant wait to try them in a stronger wind , if you have a decent slope site locally I wouldn't bother adding a power plant. J
Bruce Austin
Hi Justin Thank you for the details there. At the moment I'm just browsing around at the various flying wing options. Yes, and I need to explore the local flying site possibilities as well. Go With the Flow Bruce
