Incidence angle

Recommended Posts

hi everyone, this is my first visit to this site and it looks like the place to get the info i need.

i love building planes, and i am doing my first scratch build, but i need some help/advice on the angle of incidence.

if i use a datum line down the side of the fuse and install my elevator in line with this, does my wing get installed on the same line or does it need to have a few degrees angle up for more lift?

if i do need to angle my wing up, what is a good rule of thumb?

thanks for any help, Dave from Australia

Thanks Eric for your response.

i am building a foam park flyer for thrashing around, from bits and pieces lying around. i was going to do a foam fuse and a balsa wing, and i will model it on a seafury or spitfire, so it will be a low wing.

thanks again and i will post it and the flying results when im done.

cheers.
