adrian lawrence 1
Hi, I was thinking of buying the FlyingBalsa Scout autogyro from AJ Blades **LINK**. And just wondered if anyone has already purchased one, and what their thoughts on it were. cheers adrian
adrian lawrence 1
Looks like no one has bought one of these as yet. I decided to purchase one anyway, and the kit is now awaiting the board to be cleared of the latest project. The kit is of good quality and I am looking forward to the build. Tom Wright 2
Adrian If this is your first Auto gyro experience it would be good to build exactly as plan / instructions and ask for advice on here if you are not familiar with final set up and preparation for the first flights. I would also ask AJ if they can put you in touch with a pilot who is currently experienced with the model. Properly trimmed Auto gyros can be quite easy once the differences in flying technique are mastered and the pit falls of disorientation are appreciated, but it is a new learning curve that needs some thought. adrian lawrence 1
Hi Tom, thanks for the advice, I will certainly heed it as the only autogyro experience I have is with the DB Autogyro, which is a totally different beast. I also ordered some blades for your Crane Fly, which I shall start to build just ahead of the Scout. If all goes well I have a Flair Attila that is devoid of wings, I thought that might make a nice conversion to autogyro.
