Does this seem fishy??

Yes Simon you are correct & I do wish to buy it , the credit card option was available and is the option I have chosen (as was cash on collection on my invoice) , the "vendor" doesn't now seem keen to take this route but my card is flexed & ready for action and will remain so.

Why it's got to this sorry state is beyond me? I only wanted an address and time to collect it in the outset. It's a model plane sold by someone who will probably knows some of my club mates or maybe even me? Ok if this was an engine or some other item being posted from the other end of the country then fair play but it's probably only a 20 minute drive away?? Arnt we all some kind of collective unit?

I've bought & sold stuff from across the country and never had a bad experience, I've also met & chatted to many flyers whilst doing so, hence my suspicion.

Jeeze I have cash , he wants cash how hard can it be ???

(Unless of course £220 was less than expected )

You entered into a binding contract at the time you bid. If it did not offer cash on collection at the time you bid, what it might say now on the invoice was not part of the terms. If you were buying from me I would be concerned. I suggest he does want your money and you want the model so before this escalates into something that you both will end up regretting why not put your cash into the Paypal Account and pay him. As you said, he wants the money but he doesn't want cash. You are protected under the normal rules of Ebay using PayPal and so is he. Paying by credit card is not going to work unless he is a registered trader or company.
