Easytiger Models
Valiant effort ends with broken back... This is a Fifties Lindberg Valiant vacuformed plastic FF model I built and converted to RC some months back...today was very calm, and I had a little time, so I went to a schoolyard down the road to test this out...thirty seconds of flight, and the wing folded. Back to the shop, add a spar, go back out again, and she is flying nicely, I reach down to adjust the elevator trim... And turn the transmitter off. She goes down into the snow, no damage. I clear all the snow off, launch her again, again reach for the elevator trim... And turn the transmitter off again. This time she goes in from much higher, fuse breaks in two. We will fix her up, but it was pretty stoopid. The plastic is very old and very brittle, the plane is quite fragile, but I am pretty sure I am the only person flying a vacuformed plastic model from the Fifties today... Flew fine, by the way...
