Matt
Well done Andy. Have you tried adjusting the needle valve to make it run a little longer? You could try a 1/4 turn one way and if that makes it worse (no start) then go a 1/4 the other way.Good luck. Alex Hasell
Hi there,I need some advice my Sc46 arrived today and i have to say that the instructions that are with it are very poor indeed compared to others i have seen now needle valve adjustment i am quite comfy with its the air bleed screw i need help with can some one explain please.regards Alex
Brian Parker
Alex, The air bleed will be pre-set and should be left as set, particularly during running-in. As a guide only........Any subsequent adqustment (if needed) should be done 1/8th of a turn at a time and with patience. With a warm engine at idle, open the throttle fully, if slow to pick-up and excess white smoke, engine is rich, screw clockwise 1/8th turn. Let engine idle, try again until engine picks up cleanly. If engine has no smoke on opening throttle and cuts, the engine mixture is weak, screw out 1/8th turn. Let idle, try again, repeat the above until correct, with patience.
Matt
This depends on which engine and wether the blead screew lets more or less air in when screwed in or out. As a general rule I LEAVE THESE THINGS WELL ALONE unless the engine is giving real problems with pick up from idle. They can be far more trouble than anyone could ever want.As Brian says IF you feel the need to adjust, make sure you have a large dose of patience before you start.Matt
Alex Hasell
Okthanks guys i did read some where else that they are usually factory set to the optimum setting already and that was my general feeling on the matter but that was from a different manufacturer and as the instructions that came with my sc46 were pathectic to say the least then i thought it best to checkregardsAlex
