Bob Bertram
I have acquired this leccy powered glider recently and wonder if anyone has an idea of what it is. 6ft span and powered by what looks like a Speed 600 brushed motor with a rather heavy 7 cell battery pack. Any ideas greatfully received.
GeeW
Pegasus Models Minnow fuselage but wings are from something else, or have been stretched by 4 or 5 ribs per side to (perhaps) keep the wing loading under control for the extra weight of SP600 plus batteries. Think at one time Galaxy also offered it as well. The Minnow was offered with either built up or foam wings. http://www.pegasusmodels.co.uk/product.asp?type=submenu&id=Pegasus%20Models%20Kits&maingp=Aircraft&prodid=994302#.VocCk7aLSt8 Edited By GeeW on 01/01/2016 22:43:41 Edited By GeeW on 01/01/2016 22:49:01 Edited By GeeW on 01/01/2016 22:51:
Robin Colbourne
I'm sure I had one of those, with that same odd looking wing, that I picked up at a club bring and buy sale. As GeeW says it was a Galaxy/Pegasus kit and the ancestry to the Minnow (which had a pylon mounted 0.049 engine) is evident in the side view. The name 'Aquarius 540' is bouncing around in my head, and this post appears to confirm it: http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=102008 Edited By Robin Colbourne on 02/01/2016 01:27:
Bob Bertram
Many thanks GeeW and Robin you seem to be spot on. As Pegasus is only about 24 miles away it is not surprising that it is one of their kits.
