Robin Colbourne
A lasting memory from my first visit to the Sandown Symposium in 1976 or thereabouts was of a number of small aerobatic models aerotowing Middle Phases (or Mini Phases?). The model was the MicroMold Centrefire, which had a low foam wing about 48" span, tricycle undercarriage and bubble canopy for a 0.25cu in engine. I think the fuselage was ABS, but I'm not certain. From what I recall they all had white fuselages, but the wings and tails were solarfilmed. It was an attractive model, but well outside the budget of an impecunious eleven year old, that's for sure. Has anyone here seen, flown or even got a Centrefire?
IanN
Don't recall this model myself, but there's a review in this mag **LINK**
Robin Colbourne
Ah yes, still got that mag somewhere! From the good old days when Tony Baker did the cover photos and before the 'Taliban' complained about them.
