Hitec Aurora 9 2.4ghz

A club mate had some problems with his Aurora 9 today. Basic error on his part, but surprising given the sophistication of the system.

He switched on, all appeared to be working fine, off went the Radian glider, then after about 3 minutes it came down in the middle of the strip with a hell of a thud!

Upon inspection of the bits, it appeared that the wrong model had been selected but everything worked on the now smashed model.

The screen showed Twinstar, but on the ground and for a short while in the air the Radian worked ok.

So, getting to my question, does the Hitec system have a similar system to that of Spektrum where you can't operate the wrong model?
